Oh hells yes. We all know that for all practical purposes, this doubles as an announcement from Sony that they will drop their price to the same or lower at around the same time.

<div style='font: 10pt "Arial bold"; text-align: left; '>It's the perfect price for them. Same as the DC. Sony I'm not so convinced will match, but they should drop to $249. If they do drop it to $199, expect Nintendo to go down to $149 for sure. There's just more perceived value in the PS2</div>

<div style='font: 12pt Arial; text-align: left; '>Let's just hope they aren't forced to go too low too quickly. And if they do, it'll likely involve cutting corners and using shitty parts in some form.</div>

yah, but MS can "eat" a lot more than anyone else

<div style='font: 11pt Dominion; text-align: left; '>Hell, they can dip into Gate's 30mile deep pockets if they have to.. They got a LOT more going for them than Xbox.
Makes ya wonder though,, what are they preparing for? You don't eat costs because you love your public.. no,, you do it to get them hooked, so when your next huge product comes out they won't think twice about getting it,,, something's goin down in the long term</div>

<div style='font: 10pt "Arial bold"; text-align: left; '>Well, for the first 2 years they don't make money. Of course, Sega claimed to make $1 per DC off the bat and Nintendo claims they won't lost money either, but that's horse shit. They will for the first year at least</div>

<div style='font: 12pt Arial; text-align: left; '>Yah, it won't help their losses on hardware any. But it does lessen the losses by far when they use shitty parts or cheap labor.</div>
