Since I'm in a "list" kinda mood now, what games on the horizon are everyone looking forward to?

<div style='font: 12pt Baskerville; text-align: left; '><i>PC:

Project Ego: This one is a ways off, but it's the game that debuted at this year's E3 that garnered the most interest from me. It's being developed by Peter Molyneux's (Populous, Black & White) company...Blue Byte software is the name I think. Anyway, it's a single player action/adventure RPG type game where you control a 15 year old boy whose parents just died. You take him from that point on until his death and control the direction of his life. It's completely open ended and non-linear (although death is sorta linear) and you can be good, evil, neutral...fight face to face or slit throats quietly...be a great hero, a great villain or the guy behind the scenes doing good or bad...your image changes as you make decisions and the world changes with you...the few screens look very good (especially the character on a dark path) and it seems to be a middle ages setting...has the potential to be an awesome game...and there should be console versions for those with upgrade or install phobias.

Star Wars Galaxies: Verant's MMORPG in the star wars universe. I've said it many times before, I dislike online RPG's, but this is the exception that shatters the rule. You can become a Jedi...light or dark...nuff said. Not like other Star Wars games where you play "a" Jedi...you are the Jedi, you have to follow the rules and work to become one, you're not just tossed into the role. This is the game I've wanted since I saw Star Wars I don't know how many years ago at the local drive-in.

Arcanum: Not sure if this is out yet or not but it's near the top of my list. Steampunk and fantasy collide in a game from the guy that did Fallout, one of my all-time favorite PC games.

Civilization III: More of the same with better graphics and lots more beefy goodness...and Sid Meier this time. Maybe we can all stop playing Civ 2 now.

PS2:

Final Fantasy X: Yeah, like y'all have been living under a rock or something. I'm proud to say I know almost nothing about the game so I'll be able to really enjoy it. I just hope I get my own PS2 before all the spoilers hit the net once it's finally released here. It's bad enough that you can download the end movie from the import version at almost any game site...now answer me this...is that journalism or just pandering...or filling space? Bah...

Tekken 4: It's Tekken...moving on...

Soul Reaver 2 and Blood Omen 2: 2 Legacy of Kain Games within a year of each other? That $300 dollar check from the goverment is getting closer and closer to being spent...but I can handle it...I'm better than my base urges...only a price drop or a new series of systems being released will get me a PS2...I swear it...really...I mean it...

Galleon: From the 2 Tomb Raider 1 guys that left. Pirates and saucy wenches, cool platforming action and incredible animation. Could be very cool.

Herdy Gerdy: Could be a very awesome game. Looks like a friggin Disney movie with a very cool and original gameplay concept. I hope it really comes together and isn't tedious...Core could use something besides Tomb Raider as a franchise...

Metal Gear Solid 2: Yadda yadda...

Xenosaga: Went over my excitement for this one in a post earlier. I think the term is ORGASMIC!!

DC:

Shenmue 2: Supposed to be chapters 2-6 of the saga, and should be double the size of the first one. I loved the first one despite its shortcomings and can't wait for this one.

That's about it for DC...fucking sad...but at least Sega will go on...

Gamecube:

Wave Race 2: Anyone that played the original Wave Race knows where I'm coming from and is probly as jacked as I am.

New Zelda: Another one that's likely a ways off, but I'm jonesing for some Hyrule fun `n games. And hopefully you'll be grown-up Link the whole time. I hate playing as little kids who should be pulling little girl's hair and eating their boogers; not saving the world. And that's eating their own boogers, not the little girl's boogers...thought I should clear that up...

X-Box:

DoA3: I love the DoA series, and if I have to get an X-Box to keep on loving it, I will. The backgrounds I've seen for the game just look amazing. No doubting the power of the machine, but I just don't see them being able to make it last against Sony and Nintendo.

Jet Grind Radio 2: Loved the original. Long live Sega...</i></div>

It's a short one...

<div style='font: 10pt "arial narrow"; text-align: left; padding: 0% 5% 0% 5%; '>Star Wars: Rogue Leader (GC)
Romance of the Three Kingdoms 7 (PS2? Come on Koei, you cheap bastards. Translate it! I'll buy it!)
Kessen 2 (PS2)
Dynasty Warriors 3 (PS2)
MGS2... I guess (PS2)
Final Fantasy X (PS2)
Tekken 4 (PS2... Tekken Tag was a big disappointment, but this should be different)
Silent Hill 2 (PS2)
ICO (PS2)

Not as short as I thought. As you can see, my next gen system of choice has already been decided. By the time the GC and Xbox are out, most of these games will be as well.</div>

Hmm...

<div style='font: 9pt arial; text-align: left; '>Arcanum. Not sure how much of a priority it's going to be, but I will get it at some point.

Neverwinter Nights. Period. I don't need to say anything more about how fucking much this is going to rock. Oh, wait, one thing - I can take my Baldur's Gate 2 heroine into NWN. Level 26 archer, HELL YES.

Dark Age of Camelot. Looks like a MMORPG done right - three balanced kingdoms, a company without their head up their ass, gameplay that minimizes downtime. Oh, did I mention that the beta DOES NOT CRASH? Jesus, it's like the Holy Grail of online RPGs.

Dungeon Siege. An action RPG that doesn't look to be the repetitive clusterfuck that Diablo 2 tends to be. I'm there.

TORN. Oh, wait, nevermind. Fuck.

Can't think of anything else offhand, though there are honestly no console titles at the moment that really grab me. I'm definately solidly into another PC phase, and depending on how much long term gameplay DAoC and NWN may provide (note: probably a metric shitload), I may be very well set with these titles until next summer.

Wouldn't that be nice?</div>

<div style='font: 14pt "Times New Roman"; text-align: left; '>PS2:

Final Fantasy 10 - It's FF, enough said.

Tekken 4 - I'm a big Tekken fan, and I've got a friend in college who's the same, so it'll be great to be able to go at it on this game.

Xenosaga - Xenogears was a mind-blowing experience, to say the least, and knowing that the same people are working on this game eliminates any doubts I have that it'll be stellar, and likely surpass Xenogears.

MGS2 - MGS kicked ass, and seeing this year's E3 trailer has me salivating all over it.

Twisted Metal Black - I loved TM2, and I'm picking this one up the second I get a PS2.

PC:

Warcraft 3 - Blizzard hasn't let me down yet with their games, and I don't doubt they'll deliver with this one.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>FFX

Here we go!

<div style='font: 9pt Arial; text-align: left; '>PS2 (in order of anticipation)

Metal Gear Solid 2: Should be a lot like MGS, but with better graphics and AI.

Xenosaga: Prequel to one of my favorite RPGs. I'm expecting a (relatively)well written story.

ICO: I just heard about this two weeks ago, but since then, I've read nothing but good things about it.

Silent Hill 2: Shit. This game is coming out on my birthday, so it's gonna be pretty hard to resist buying a PS2 for this. Come on pricedrop!

FFX: What's to say? We're all probably gonna buy this game even if it sucks :)

Devil May Cry/Onimusha: Mikami-made survival horror. Tried and true. (or Capcom rehash, depending on your point of view)

GC (in order of anticipation)

Metroid Prime: See MGS2

Zelda: A looong way off, but you know there's gonna be one.

Resident Evil Zero: See Devil May Cry/Onimusha.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt Baskerville; text-align: left; '>...<i>just not all that excited about either one. I didn't really like the first Super Smash Bros. on N64. Not my kind of fighting game...bored me to tears. As for Metroid on Gamecube, it's a completely unproven commodity coming from a completely unproven developer. The fact that it will be a first person shooter (not my favorite genre) is strike one. The fact that the development team has changed internally so severely during the course of development is strike 2. The fact that Nintendo has thrown a ton of money behind said team and they've delivered absolutely nothing in that time is strike 3. It may turn out to be a great game, but I'm not holding my breath waiting for it just to end up being massively disappointed. Now the 2D Metroid sequels or prequels on GameBoy Advance....that's a different story. Guess I forgot to include GBA in my most wanted list. My bad...</i></div>

Oh yeah...

<div style='font: 12pt Baskerville; text-align: left; '>...<i>I completely forgot about Arc the Lad Collection...Working Designs has that effect on me. Tons of fanfare when they pick up the rights to publish a game and then everyone forgets about it while they spend years translating the damn thing. I don't even know when it's due out...I've been wanting to play those games since I saw a preview for Arc 1 waaaaaaay back years ago in an issue of GameFan. I'm pretty sure they've finished translating parts 1 and 2 (vaguely remember Gamers Republic previewing copies of the finished translation for the first two) so hopefully it's almost done.

...and thanks for reminding me about it.<big> :^)</big></i></div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>Super Robot Wars Alpha for DC

It's the remake of Super Robot Wars Alpha for...well, the DC. Re-done in 3D with more scenarios...it's a win win situation :P

Super Robot Wars Advanced

SRW game for the GBA with Dragonar and Nadesico added. Nuff said.

DQ7

I have the Japanese version, but I never got around to playing too much of it so getting the English version is pretty high on my priority list

Fire Emblem for GBA

I've turned into a big fan of the series every since TearRing Saga, so hell, I'll give the GBA one a shot too :P

MGS2

Well...chances are I'll end up importing this too unless a decent mod chip comes in...

Air

Great story. Great characters. Great art. Great visual novel...voice acting !

Memories Off 2

The promo disc was a lot of fun...looking forward to it

Mystreet

I'm a big fan of the game's scenario writer. So sue me :P</div>
