The Other Worlds Shrine

Your place for discussion about RPGs, gaming, music, movies, anime, computers, sports, and any other stuff we care to talk about...

  • Either this world is a whole lot smaller than Xenogears, or they just aren't showing much yet. It didn't really catch my attention until about 7:00. You'll see why.

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>I'm guessing most of the game will look like what's in the movie. They certainly have the capabilities to do that kind of animation.

The sword fight was cool. Other than that, nothing too interesting. Generic space fleet get wiped out by powerful alien stuff is boring. If I want to see human gets spanked and mechs fighting each other, I'd go get an Anime instead.</div>

<div style='font: 14pt Plakatbau; text-align: left; '>That kind of disappoints me, because I'm not a big fan of moving backwards in an established series. Also, I thought I had a solid handle on the story and occurances of Xenogears, but upon learning of the story in the 'Perfect Works', I'm confused again. Heh.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Some figures are probably omnipresent in the Xeno series.</div>

<div style='font: 14pt Plakatbau; text-align: left; '>Some are (Cain), but Citan appeared to be entirely mortal. You're going to have to do better than that considering the game occurs thousands of years previous to Xenogears.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Sounds like pretty important to me, and besides in the world of Xenogears, mortals can live a long time with life extension. Cain is a mortal too.</div>

<div style='font: 14pt Plakatbau; text-align: left; '>Cain also looks very old (indicating that aging is still visible). Being designated to a special position doesn't guarantee he's omnipresent, he just has a very strong animus rating.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt Baskerville; text-align: left; '>...<i><big>Kain looked exactly the same at the end of Xenogears as he did when he killed the "Abel" incarnation of Fei in the flashback on disc 2. And yes, I played Xenogears way too many times to actually know this. Hell, I even played through the import version with no knowledge of Japanese just to see if they blocked out Elly's naughty bits in the ending movie...and they did block them out...the bastards...

...and also let me take a moment to thank you for putting that big fat spoiler about Citan right in the subject line </i> <big>>:^(</big></big></div>

<div style='font: 14pt Plakatbau; text-align: left; '>I know that Cain looks the same throughout the game. I don't doubt that he has extended (almost immortal, age-wise) life, but Citan doesn't as far as we know.</div>
