  • Why is it people have this adversion to children games?

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>I was having an argument with my friend over Kingdom Hearts earlier. He basically scoffed off the game because it's a Disney RPG. Never mind that Square allocated a lot of their staff for this game, and Disney has a pretty good staff too. And this is coming from a guy who went out and bought the Bouncer even though he doesn't play fighting games!

I see people do this to stuff like Yugioh, Pokemon, and of course Disney games. I mean, it's true that something that sells well to children doesn't mean it appeals to older gamers, but you've to remember that it's not like the only thing in the children market are Yugioh, Pokemon, and Disney. For those to be successful there they have to have some degree of quality to them. I watched Pokemon a couple times and I think it's certainly better than your Joe Smoe Anime.

Then again, maybe that guy is just a jerk. He broke my PSX while modding it and blame me for having a faulty mod chip because there's no way his mad expertise of 2 successful PSX mods could've screwed up... and he's still bitter about this even though I was the one who lost a PSX.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt Draconwick; text-align: left; '>People don't like Pokemon Puzzle League because it's Pokemon. I have seen reveiws of it, though, and it's supposed to be a very well put together puzzle game.

Although there is a reason to this aversion. Say FF7 was made with disney characters would it have been as good? This is just an example, but you have to look at both sides of the spectrum.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt Arial; text-align: left; '>I've got nothing against Disney, so long as the product is good (which theirs often are). Most of the folks who shun games that they call "childish" are just boosting their ego or compensating for some crap.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light"; text-align: left; '>Actually, you could probably classified most children's games as women's games because they'll go "Oh, look...how cute!" Sorta like how more women choose Sailor Moon over DBZ.</div>
