<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Now before I start, this may disapoint some, but none of my picks are from Gamecube or PS2, despight there being some great releases, Metal Gear Solid, Super Smash Brother Melee, etc... But, they can wait until next year.

10) Legend of Zelda Oracle of Time and Oracle of Seasons:

These games are great, they are a lot more like A Link tot he Past than the previous Zelda GB game. They kind of remind me of Majora's mask in a way, everything about them is better (except the color and music quality), but they just seam to be missing something, but at the same time, playing a Link tothe Past over these would seam to be missing a whole lot more. These games are Great, probably the best 2D Zelda games available.

9) Civilization III, ALRIGHT, I haven't had a lot of time to play this one, only a month or so, maybe if I did, it would be first, but you have to realize there's actually a fairly fine line between 10th and 1st on my list. I played a lot of games this year, a lot more than I have in the last 4 or 5 years at least. Then again, I used to go on the Web a whole lot more, but with the Shrine not being as active, I saw a whole lot less point to it, played Videogames instead =)
Anyways, I have about 150 pages worth of Civ 3 stuff already written up below, so I don't need to post anymore.

8) Faxanadu

An old friend from the NES days, this game... WHY THE HELL DIDN'T THEY MAKE A SEQUEL!!!!! In my opinion, one of the greatest games of all time. This game I found more fun than Adventures of Link, Castlevania 3, OR Metroid, even when I was a kid. It's just a fun as hell game, I remember actually taking this part seriously when I was like 6 or whatever "I sell Keys, What would you like?". I guess NES game dialogue or idea's were never well thought through =)

7) Ogre BAttle: Person of Lordly Calibur

It's a very VEEEEERY loooooooong game, especially when you suck as much as I do at it. I still haven't finished it, I probably won't for another year. I've been PLAYING it for a year. The cool thing about it though is the depth of the story, there's a timeline, character and event profiles, stuff about the History of the Kingdoms, etc... Think Final Fantasy Tactics, they almost used the exact same set-up, except they improved the graphics, the character faces and everything are more detailed, there's a lot more description of stuff, the game uses almost the EXACT same music as FFT, makes me wonder, are the development teams the same? Everything is so similar. The major difference is that there are WAY more towns in Ogre Battle, and the battles take up to 3 and a half hours (well, from my experiences so far), and the thing is, you're just as likely to lose a battle in Ogre Battle as you are in FFT. This game is deep, perhaps too deep, too much to do in it. Plus you have all these alignment issues, some people will say different things to you depending on your alignment, between all the towns and everything in the game, there's probably around 50,000 characters! But seriously, if they made it more straightforward like FFT, it wouldn't be taking me so DAMN long! Oh yeah, I'd say judging from the fact that I'm halfway through (but the later levels might be longer and have even MORE cutscenes or whatever than the orriginal), I'd say the story is about 3-4 times longer than FFT's, though it's essentially the same thing so far. The story is slightly different every time you go through depending on events that occur and things that you do, which is cool, adds to replayability, I hear once you're through the game once, it's a piece of Cake.

6) Castlevania: Circle of the Moon

What can I say, this is a game I like to waste time in and just kill things... and stuff. I find myself having as much fun going and killing randomly as I do actually prgressing through the game, I love the Music and I love the setting, what more could I ask for? Of course, I neglected Advance Wars which is supposed to be an awesome game, oh well! I can get that later when it's cheaper.

5) Zelda Ocarina of Time

OK!!! So I had to play it JUST on more time, and I still have yet to get through Majora's Mask, which in my opinion has a much better story (there's like 20 times as many people and 50 times as much text) but just seams to be lacking somewhere, perhaps the way the levels are designed, maybe how the sound effects fit together with the surroundings. It's still a great game, but I'm leaving it out because of Ocarina of Time. Every time I play Majora's mask for a half hour, I HAVE to go and play Ocarina of Time for another 3 or 4.

4) Soul CALIBUR!!!!

What is there not to like about this game, it has absolutly everything you could want in a fighter. For ONCE there is a single player mode that doesn't get boring after 5-20 minutes of play, you could sit here for hours on the Mission mode, and I don't even like Fighters! I love this one, it was my top game for last year, or the year before I think, who cares! I can't wait for the sequel.

3) Conkers Bad Fur Day:

Now, C'mon! I haven't played a multiplayer OR single player platformer that was this fun in a... well, EVER, maybe I had a little more fun with Mario 3, but that was 10 years ago or more. This game has everything you could want in an action game, profanity, violence, blood, sexism, voice acting, lots of cheap movie ripoffs including the Matrix and The Terminator, great gameplay, nice graphics, beer, kicking ass, and best of all the game is a Comedy! Oh yeah, one thing, this game has a lot of challenge to it, there are very few easy sections of the game, and the bosses are all fun as hell! Did I ever mention the dozens of hours worth I put into multiplayer for this title, war is fun!

2) Terranigma

Just ask Don, I was going crazy over this game not too long ago, it rocks! I missed sleep over it, I missed parties over it, I missed just about everything over this one. This is one of the greatest Adventure games ever made, and a MUST play for any fan of Adventure titles.

"Defeated
Bloody Mary!!"

If you EVER see this text, you got skills, this is the hardest boss in the Histoy of Videogames. Also this is where the plot begins to REALLY get interesting now that Civilization is developing towards the later part of the Middle Ages and beyond.

1) SKIES OF ARCADIA

Jesus where can I start, this IS my favorite RPG of all time. I don't know where to draw comparissons, it is unique in a lot of ways. Lets just say if I pictured a true sequel to Chrono Trigger, give this game a plotline related to Chrono Trigger, and this would be it.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Trying to beat her without magic, now that takes a ton of leveling and skill, yeah.

The one thing I like about Terranigma is that you never feel Ark is the strongest people in this world. Everyone contributed to get Ark to the final battle.

Skies has the same kind of feel as Trigger. It'd be better if the game lets you avoid random combat earlier. The South Sea or whatever the part you get blown back if you don't have your hand glued to the forward button sucks, and so is exploring in general without the Books of Polarity. I mean yeah you just throw a Rain of Swords or Lambda Burst, but it's still a pain.</div>

I agree with the random battle thing, they should for part 2, A) Have the ability to togle on the amount of random encounters outside you get into, between 1/10th the amount normal and double. B) Make discoveries worth a HELL of a lot more. and about the

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>It's the atmosphere of both games, playing Skies of Arcadia feels almost the same as playing Chrono Trigger. I guess it's a combination of the graphical style, the music, and the characters in the game. Now if they adapted the battle encounter system to be like CT's all the time (it is on only special ocasions, that was with only powerful regular enemies, otherwise it's random battles), then the game would be perfect. I guess it's a bit harder to do the CT system in a 3D environment though, your range of vision is a lot larger than on a 2D screen.</div>
