FFX is out and I don't give a flying fuck. Anyone else?

<div style='font: 10pt "Times New Roman"; text-align: left; '>Squaresoft (nevermind the series) currently has less soul than modern-day Michael Jackson. They've turned this long-running series into a franchise within the last 2-3 years. They're dead to me!</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Arial; text-align: left; '>I haven't finished a Final Fantasy game since VII, and I only played IX for about 2 hours. I also think the RPG genre as a whole has been hopelessly stagnant for the past three years. So, no, I don't care about FF X.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt Helvetica; text-align: left; '>Looks like a recycled FF8 to me.</div>

I sure as hell don't. Capcom should've killed off Mike Haggar years ago...

<div style='font: 9pt Arial; text-align: left; '>Seriously though, I'm still looking foward to the the game, which will be my first game for the PS2 when I finally get one this week. It does annoy me that Square seems to be cranking these things out more than once a year now, but as long as they're enjoyable (the general consensus among friends is that FFX kicks some gluteus maximus), I'll keep buying 'em.</div>

I can assure you Tidus and eveyone else didn't come from the same orphanage :)

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>FF8 is probably the closest to FF10 in terms of the feel of the game, especially with the graphic style.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>I don't have a PS2, so I can't play it, or MGS2, or GTA3, or any other good games for it. Might and Magic 9 for the PC's coming out in March, and I can't play that either. Current minimum specs call for a P II/400 MHz, and I only have a 300 MHz Celeron. Dammit I need some money..............</div>

<div style='font: 10pt "Times New Roman"; text-align: left; '>Of course it is, but they kept up the whole false pretense of affectionate romanticization until 2 years ago.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt "arial narrow"; text-align: left; padding: 0% 5% 0% 5%; '>Uh.... right. I don't recall the company's intentions ever waivering (well hell, who knew their intentions?)... they're just more sucessful now. (drunk message)</div>

<div style='font: 10pt verdana; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>And what prompted this conclusion?</div>

FF6 to FF7 was a three-year wait. This had a mostly to do with the technology, but after it was discovered to be a very popular game, Square moved a huge quantity of resources to the FF series.

<div style='font: 10pt "Times New Roman"; text-align: left; '>This gradually accelerated successive releases until the point where it's currently one game per 10 month period. Of course it's always been a franchise, Detective Friday, but you weren't hearing news and seeing advanced storyboards of FF9 during FF8's initial release as you did with FF10. They have the goddamn games working simultaneously, now. It's a well-publicized situation akin to an assembly line.

If you find something particularly romantic about mass production, let me know.</div>

I'll grant you all of that, but I think you're romanticizing their past. They've sped things up and added more people. Otherwise, it's the same ol' process.

<div style='font: 10pt "Times New Roman"; text-align: left; '>Actually, my gripe with it is that they've broken the number one rule of the entertainment biz - always leave your audience wanting more. That's why I have little to no interest in FF10.</div>
