Oh my GOD, I will conquer Final Fantasy 8 or I will die trying...

<div style='font: 10pt Arial; text-align: left; '>Every time I try to play through FF 8 I end up quitting because of how much I hate it, and every time I regret it because I think I need to conquer it, mostly because I actually went out and <i>bought</i> the damn game. Previously, the furthest I had managed to get was a very small ways into Disc 2. This time, though...this time, I think I can make it happen. I'm actually on Disc 4. I spent an insane amount of time leveling up characters in the beginning of the game (an action which I now realize was worthless due to the way the entire junction system works; my guys would be so much more powerful had I concentrated on <i>decreasing</i> the amount of experience they got while <i>increasing</i> the AP my GFs got), so they're quasi-powerful, if nothing else. And you know what I've discovered about this game?
I fucking hate it more than I ever have before.
Everything about this game is crap. It's horrible. I wish it was alive so I could drive a knife into its skull. I hate the characters, I hate the story, I abso-fucking-lutely hate the junction system, but I <i>will</i> conquer it. I am not going to be this game's bitch. It won't make me quit. I will make Final Fantasy 8 <i>my</i> bitch. And I'm not <i>even</i> going to be friendly with it. I will bend FF 8 over and do it dry. Then I'll take a baseball bat to it and beat some pretty onto its ugly face.
God damn it, I'm going to play it again, now. I want to kill something.

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Now let's see you put that same level of determination into beating Ghosts and Goblins for the NES. That's the hardest game I've ever played. Beat the SNES one but got my ass handed to me with the NES one</div>

<div style='font: 10pt verdana; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>Probably not the best argument, seeing as how Ahab was dangerously obsessed to the point of ruling his life, and that's certainly not something one wants to emulate.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Arial; text-align: left; '>If it's about as much fun as beating all 100 levels of Bubble Bobble only to discover that you have to just START OVER due to a lack of a fucking ENDING...then I'd rather not. I've had my fair share of annoying NES games.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>God can I relate. I made it disc 3 the first time, disc 2 the 2nd time, and the end of disc 2 the 3rd time. I hate FF8. The slow pace, the stinking garden, the emotionless characters, the battle system, the card battles, the junction system. I hate that fucking game!</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Ah, so you didn't find the secret door on level 99, huh? There is an ending, you just have to get that door on 99 or you start over. Ghosts and Goblins is just HAAAAAAAAARD. I got to the third level before I used a code to beat it</div>

I re-read the original post. I think my point is still valid, and don't see it as being "needlessly argumentative."

If you knew the intentions of my simile, you'd kow it was't a direct transposition of character. The example is the type of situation Lee is currently embroiled in. You contested this serious for some frivolous reason. You must be a hit at parties, sir.

<div style='font: 10pt "Times New Roman"; text-align: left; '>"Great kegger, huh?"
"Well, the principle definition of the word 'great' according to Merriam-Webster dictionaries is an object or occasion of exceptionally voluminous size. Seeing as this party is relegated to just one house, I feel the label of 'great' is misleading and insufficient. Now if you'll excuse me, I must now astrally depart to experience 'Boy Sets Fire' in my own personal universe."</div>
Are you not capable of talking about things without making it personal?

Not that that's relevant to this; why try to turn it into a personal attack? Seriously, do you want people to not to talk to you?
No, I didn't know the intentions of your simile—how could I? There's not much room for interpertation in all of those twelve words.</div>

Oh, I see. You thought I was actually declaring Lee 'Captain Ahab' from the novel 'Moby Dick'. I'll try to be a little more clear next time, buddy.

Come to think of it, you did ask me "When did I stop being civil?" a while ago - What exactly did you mean by that?</div>
Of course not, that's ridiculous. I don't know where you got that from. From what I could tell, you were making a direct comarison.
