Anyone pick up VF4?  I've never been into the series before, but this one kicks ass, it's probably the best PS2 fighting game yet.

<div style='font: 11pt "comic sans MS"; text-align: left; '>Can you enlighten me on this : you can create an AI opponent, teach it how to fight and counter against you? That sounds cool.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt "arial narrow"; text-align: left; padding: 0% 5% 0% 5%; '>It's still not out here. Tomorrow, maybe.</div>

Here's the rundown

<div style='font: 14pt "Times New Roman"; text-align: left; '>In Sparring mode, you do moves that the AI will instantly learn and peform. If you want it to do some moves more than others, then just perform those moves more often yourself. Then, when you have it fight against other opponents, you give it good or bad feedback by hitting either O or X at the right time. And if you think your AI's all that, you can have it go through Kumite mode, which is a big ranking system where you can get a bunch of accessories to outfit your character with (also can be played by humans). This mode alone will suck hours out of your day, I guarantee it.</div>

<div style='font: 14pt "Times New Roman"; text-align: left; '>Oh yes, that's one of the cooler parts of the game.</div>

I remember the VF3 arcade machine had something like this (Expert mode?)...

<div style='font: 11pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light"; text-align: left; '>You would play the game as normal (well, after you turned on a hidden switch on the machine), and when you did a cool juggle or combo, it would learn it. After about a day of high-level players playing the game, the AI on the machine would FUCKING OWN YOUR ASS! Like doing the SPoD (stun palm of doom; the three-hit thing everybody has seen before) every time you fucked up on Akira, or worse, Kage would juggle you with the 10-foot toss of doom (I think it was TFT with a bunch of senbon punchs, then his typical 3P-K combo; 90% or so of damage).

I haven't personally seen it but I imagine such a system would be easy to create, since the game already records what's a combo and how much damage it does.</div>

This game is....... loss of words. Brilliant, Genius, Fun, Deep, TIME SUCK

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>I've been playing non-stop since I got it on release day, yes non-stop because I leave it on and let my A.I. character fight while I sleep. I guess there is an upside to being out of work. MFG, how anyone would manage to master all the characters is beyond me. I'm working with Lei Fei I just love all his different stances.
A big tip, use the Training mode for a good long time. It helps immeasurably. It will be hard for Tekken 4 to usurp this as the king of fighting games.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Heh, my Lei Fei is 463-321 with 8th Dan ranking. Hard to rank up now.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>As a series, Tekken has long had more support than VF. As a huge fan of Tekken 3 myself, I must say VF4 blows it away</div>

I agree on the training.

<div style='font: 14pt "Times New Roman"; text-align: left; '>I've been trying to get better at evading and doing throw escapes, but when it comes to playing my friend it's a bitch to actually implement them. Right now I'm using Pai and trying to learn all her good combos (it helps that there's an entire section devoted to here at VFDC). I'm only at 1st Dan right now, but with some luck I'll move up a few more ranks.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt "arial narrow"; text-align: left; padding: 0% 5% 0% 5%; '>As its only realy competition is Capcom vs SNK 2, I'd agree with that statement. I've played a few hours so far, and it's alright. No Soul Calibur, but still okay.</div>
