The Other Worlds Shrine

Your place for discussion about RPGs, gaming, music, movies, anime, computers, sports, and any other stuff we care to talk about...

  • Hmmm, anyone with a Gamecube should look at this (Wrestlemania X8 details, much better memory cards, Resident Evil 0 details, Metroid IV developer announced and details, about 30 new games announced)

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Well, first of all, Wrestlemania X8, a game I thought wouldn't be that great considering THQ's last two contributions, but apparently, several members of the team that worked on Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy were heading the development of X8. The Engine is still based on those titles with some modifications. They have brought back all the best features from the last two games, including the Belts where you can actually name the belts and put them up for grabs in whatever matches you decide. New Wrestlers Debuting in this game not previously before seen include: the nWo, Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall; as well as Hurricane Helms, Booker T, and Rob Van Dam. Match types include: Iron Man Match, Fatal Fourway, Triple Threat, Tag team, 1 vs 1, Royal Rumble, Cage Match, Ladder Match, Table Match, Hardcore Match, Tables Ladders and Chairs (TLC) match, and Hell in the Cell. I still haven't found anything on the game modes yet.

Next on the list, InterActs MM16x memory card, MUCH better than Nintendo's, it holds 16 times as much data which means you can actually save a bunch of SSBM screenshots and likely you won't need another memory card for the first generation titles at least, until the new 64MB memory cards come out, which are 128 times larger than the current Nintendo ones. If you are thinking about getting a new memory card, I'd get the MM16x.

Resident Evil 0, apparently takes place on a train of some sort, and it has two characters which you switch between, I wonder how this will work out.

Metroid IV for Game Boy Advance is being worked on by Intelligent Systems, a development team which includes several members from the development team who worked on Metroid III. It is uncertain as of yet whether the game will be able to hook up with Metroid Prime in any way using the GBA/GC link cable, though Miyamoto (The one overseeing the development of both Metroid Prime and Metroid IV) has stated that he would like to include some bonus extra's using that.

Battle Houshin is apparently a great game, Famitsu scored it 33/40 which beats out Koei's former top rated Title: Romance of the 3 Kingdoms VIII with a score of 32/40

Animal Forest+, that game that is like Harvest Moon meets the Sims, meats Sim City (on a much smaller level of course), that supposedly has three times more text than Final Fantasy X, it scored a huge 37/40, (9, 9, 10, 9), the only problem was that the graphics weren't up on par with other titles these days. The game has sold over 400,000 copies in Japan.

Two more announced, one called Timesplitters 2, and a new Godzilla game that looks like a cross between Super Smash Brothers Melee, Rampage, and Battle Corps, looks like it could be a lot of fun. Follow the link</div>
