I heard from some of those beta testers they weren't really digging the game, but sheesh.

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Yea, Blizzard really hasn't kept up with the times with WC3, everything they have set out to accomplish with the game has already been done-->has beta.</div>

Well, I'd say SC is dominated too much by Build Orders in the upper level

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>I've seen some replays of supposedly top players that doesn't look like it's any different from a BGH game or something especially the ones where people died in the first minute to a Zergling rush.

High skilled players in Starcraft have an inflated sense of their own skill. High end Starcraft can be explained by Game Theory pretty easliy. You've a ton of possible strategy and everything is, in theory, counterable. The best strategy, of course, is to pick the one that has the hardest or most rarely used counters because by eliminating the number of counters you face, you've less counters to worry about. If they picked the counter to that, just hope you can react on time. If you didn't do that, you'll have A LOT more possibilities that you got to react against and that puts you at a disadvantage since reacting on time is tough. If you both picked the strongest position (which almost all 'expert' SC games end up like that) then it ends up being who's better at clicking his units really fast to gain some micro advantage in the decisive battle.

You can't have a game balanced for BGH players and your top of the line players, and most players are BGH players, or at least not top of the line.</div>

And about GFrazier

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>I agree with the fact that he's out of touch with the mechanics of the game whether it's SC or Diablo 2. But then, that's how most people play the game anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if some expert player can win with 1 Gateway 1 Robotics facility because most high end SC games are decided at that point... in fact 1 Gateway 1 Robotics is most likely a standard build on Lost Temple. So basically it's no handicap at all. 1 Gateway 1 Robotics is more than enough to have a battle that'd determine how well both players can expand, and even if the expert isn't allowed to build more unit production stuff he can just PC the whole place ala BGH style to prevent the other guy from expanding. Also having Robotics allow an easy Reaver drop raid, and defending against such a drop isn't as easy the top players would like you to believe it is.</div>

I agree there, but that's why I always keep 2 Sunkens at the back of my base in early game, and Lurkers at key points,

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Even now, you go on the B-net, rush for Muta's, and STILL, 95% of the time a Protoss player will not be prepared for it. Especially when you're rushing 15 Hydra's backed with Zerglings down towards the front of the base. After you've dented the Protoss base, just rush in Zerglings. However, I must note, this strategy does not work on Don, he will normally have his Zealots pouring into your base very early on before you get adequate defense, and then you're screwed. Eric and Kaiserblades on the otherhand... =)</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>A lot games take games way too seriously. That's why I play older games and older-style games so much, why I still love the MM games. They're still games, not life simulations, interactive anime, or completely serious in tone</div>
