Games you'd most like to replay if you had the time.

<div style='font: 10pt verdana; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>Off the top of my head:
<b>Final Fantasy 7</b>
This was the first Final Fantasy I played when it came out. I had played 4 and 6 (along with a bunch of other RPGs, including Chrono Trigger) the year before. It was also the second game I got for my PS, and it really was a step above what I was used to. This game still retains a bit of that sense of awe I had when I first played it, and that is something I always like to recapture.
I'm also going to say something that upon a side-by-side comparison, I might go back on, but as memory serves, I believe it's the case: FF7 had the best in-battle graphics of all of the PS FFs. Both FF8 and FF9 had a higher polygon count, but the textures they used were more flat. The textures used in FF7 battles were shaded very well, so as to give a rounded feel to the characters. (Outside of battle is a different case entirely.)
The first time I got out of Midgar and was able to explore the overworld in this game, I was mesmerized. Any doubts I had on this game were completely gone. I just really want to experience the world, the story, the music and the characters again.
<b>Final Fantasy Tactics</b>
The battles in this game rock. The class system is a pleasure to use. It's like Final Fantasy chess. What other reason do I need?
They'd better make a sequel to this game. I want a sequel to Tactics before I want FFXI, Xenosaga (not Square, yes, I realize that) and maybe—maybe—even another Chrono.
<b>Secret of Mana</b>
I haven't played this game in a loooong time, and I simply want to experience the atmosphere again. When I played through this game the first time, I was a little annoyed with certain aspects, but I can't remember what they are anymore.
<b>Final Fantasy 6</b>
I always want to replay this game, so it hardly counts.</div>
Games I Would Replay If I Only Had The Time... a very appropriate thread to respond to while at work : )

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>I'd rather replay Final Fantasy 5 for the same reason you rather replay Final Fantasy Tactics (The class system, though I still personally don't like FF Tactics because I think it ripped 5 off)
If I had the time though, I'd really play Romance of the Three Kingdoms 3 and 4 over and over, each scenario, with myself as the 8 most interesting rulers each scenario (of course some customized ones).
I'd also like to play a Sega game that is like a war strategy game set in modern day, it's very old, it's got a sequel that sucks, name is like Disuiken or something like that I forgot. It's the first to heavily incorporate the Hexagon setup in war strategy games as opposed to just squares. It's real fun.
Speaking of strategy games... Gemfire for SNES was fun too.
Though lately my only interest is only multiplayer games.... I'd prolly lose interest unless I can get like 4-8 friends over at my house for an all night Romance of the Three Kingdoms fest (which has never happened, the record was 4 people and one stopped halfway after getting bored).

Well the games I've spent most time on the replay in the last year: 1) Skies of Arcadia, 2) Zelda: Ocarina of Time, 3) Earthbound, 4) Terranigma, 5) Dragon Warrior III, 6) Final Fantasy III (6j), 7) Chrono Trigger

by Julius Seeker
<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>1) Skies of Arcadia,
It's my favorite RPG at the moment, and since it's new, it's a game I've been playing a lot over the last year and a half. It's the age of Exploration, and you are an Air Pirate. There are a lot of simulation aspects to the game, like building a town and a base, getting a crew for your Air Ship. The World map is huge, a lot to explore, and the dungeons are relatively fun and memorable. It takes place in the Age of Exploration and has an atmosphere similar to Chrono Trigger, probably because of the games positive attitude throughout, and the open area's, and just the way everything is, and the characters and non-characters.
2) Zelda: Ocarina of Time,
Probably the main reason for this one is because every time I played Majora's Mask for more than 10 minutes, I was drawn back to this game. I still haven't finished MM, I really want to because there is a LOT to that game, but Ocarina of Time is more open where Majora's Mask is very straitforward, I find that Ocarina of Time also has a much more atmospheric feeling to it, very immersive. This game is still probably my favorite game to play, I love the battle system, the dungeons, everything about it.
3) Earthbound,
I've been a huge fan of this game for 7 or 8 years now. When it first came out not a lot of people knew about it, I only know like 3 other people that owned it, it sold a half a million copies compared to Nintendo's biggest RPG Mario RPG which sold over 2 million. Now the fanbase seams to have grown, this game just never gets old for me, it's timeless, fun, and very nicely translated, a good parody of RPG's in general. You have the Mushrooms which make you "feel funky" and you can sell them to people for 50 bucks each, you have a bank account, pizza delivery, burger joints, Police Stations, Mayors, Saturn People, a Van with a bunch of stoner Blues Brothers, Museums. You can travel to a beach resort with Ice Cream and popsicle stands with all the Sun bathers and swimmers, a luxury hotel, restaurants; Or a Winter land with a University, Stone Henge, and the Loch Ness Monster "Nessy". Go to ancient Egypt, the Mole Mines, a deep Swamp, an ancient monestary with special noodle dishes. You can stay at a hotel in any town and sometimes recieve special services, like the morning paper, there are Payphones throughout some of the cities where you can call a bus and travel throughout the main country, there are non-pay phones as well, in peoples houses and Hotels, why not order a Pizza or some other kind of delivery? Call your parents, or someone else? Even the Instruction book was cool it was a sort of Guide to the whole game that was like a gigantic Vacationers handbook detailing almost everything about the game. All in all, this game is timeless and ingenious, it is my all time favorite RPG.
4) Terranigma,
Pure Genius, this is the best adventure title on SNES, it's just so much fun, it's kind of a simulation/Adventure thing. Similar to Zelda 3, but much more advanced. The plot is excellent, there is a lot of major twists and conspiracies going on. The thing about this game is that the first time it's kind of frustrating because you don't know what the hell is going on for the first 10 hours (if you get lost like I did), then the plot begins =)
You start out by reviving the continents, then next you revive all life, and then next (which is the longest part of the game by far), you revive civilization, and help it advance from the Stone Age, to the Medival age, through the renaisance/reformation age, through the Industrial age, and on to modern times, you can help invent many things from democracy and electricity, to the Hamburger and Skateboard. You can even visit the Sunset Coast of Australia, and go back to old places you've been to before and help them advance and grow larger. Of course, at the same time as doing all of this, you are going through a very questionable plot which will ultimatly lead you into fighting some Godlike thing =)
On a side note, this game BLOWS Secret of Mana away, it's also a few years newer though with better graphics and sound so not really unexpected. Yet it's still the most advanced overhead Adventure title on the market. It's a very solid game and I'm surprised it never made it to the mass market (I guess Nintendo didn't want to compete with itself, or maybe it was that this was around the time when computers were getting powerful enough to play SNES Roms)
5) Dragon Warrior III,
This game of course has a lot of history behind it, it revolutionized the RPG genre more than any other game in history. It was the first game to have a major plot to it, the previous 2 did have plots, but this one had a MAJOR plot to it with lots of plot twists. Lets just say it starts off with Your Father Fighting the Dragon God and winning but falling into a Volcano, you are on a Quest to help restore order to the world, nd you travel through many places, and this game drops all the gloves, it has some pretty damn funny stuff in it, like the "Powder Puff" Massage, and each character has their own personalities. You can have a male or female main character. The game is slightly different depending on your gender and personality. This game was just plain fun to play through, and it wasn't until Final Fantasy III that a better Turn Based RPG came along.
6) Final Fantasy III (6j)
Like Dragon Warrior III, it had a large amount of comedy in it. The music, though not the best quality, is the best of any of Squaresofts games except perhaps Chrono Trigger. I liked how this game was very open yet seamed to remain strait forward at the same time. I have played this game a lot, in fact, I broke down last night and was downloading FFIII Midi's just to hear the music for fun... The Moogles were pretty cool, and I liked how the characters were all extremely well done (Kupek is also a Moogle name!). My favorite character in the game is Sabin, just wish they made him more of a Womanizer spending most of the game going after Terra while his Pedophile Brother kept his secret desire for Relm... a secret! There are a lot of reasons why most people consider this the best game in the series.
7) Chrono Trigger
A lot of stuff, very atmospheric game, great graphics, amazing music, thoughtful story, and some of the best characters to ever grace the RPG world. This game is often considered to be the best game by Squaresoft. I'd love to see a real sequel for it one of these days, but sadly I don't know if that's ever going to happen. This game was years ahead of its time in many aspects. There was a period when games which mostly revolved around stories rather than the adventure (FF7, Chrono Cross) seamed to be the way RPG's would be in the future, but then games that revolve around in the direction of the plot and adventure like CT began emerging again, Skies of Arcadia for example, and I hope we see more like that.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>I played through the first CD a second time, Solaris = good, but the rest of the game seamed really boring compared tot he first time through. The entire area of Solaris at the end of Disk 1 is still a blast though.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Heh, 1080 Snowboarding, I still play that game probably the most of all on N64, but I don't really consider sports games, multiplayer games, or fighters to be replays otherwise I'd have a lot more to put down on my list =P</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>And Banjo Kazooie, I forgot that one for a minute, I heard the second one was about twice as long, but like DK64, the levels were WAAAY too big. Shorter levels are better IMO</div>
Yup, I pulled Kupek from the Moogles at the beginning of FF6.

<div style='font: 10pt verdana; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>Zelda: The Ocarina of Time is a game I've played a good amount of, but never all of. I'd love to be able to sit down and play it all the way through, because what I played of it, I loved.
I started a replay of CT last winter, and it went on through to last semester. Fantastic game, I love going back to it every now and then. One of the best SNES RPGs, easily. (It and FF6 are probably my favorite SNES RPGs.)
I never played Terranigma, and unfortunately, I probably never will. I'm just not willing to play an emulated game on my computer most of the time.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt Arial; text-align: left; '>Final Fantasy X - It's more linear than its predecessors, and perhaps more slow paced, but the battle system is an improvement, and the plot is divine.
Valkyrie Profile - Original gameplay and storyline, great music, and lousy voice acting. What more could you want?
Tactics Ogre - FFT on an uglier but larger scale. I've only gotten on of this game's 8 endings. If I'm ever bedridden for a month, I'll pull out this game.
Final Fantasy VI - See Kup's response.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt "Cooper Black"; text-align: left; '>FF 8,9, and 10 i am right at the end in everyone one of these and just dont have the time to put in the extra effort to level up and be able to beat the last guy/figure out the last level. This is sad, because in HS when i played RPG's i would LOVE to randomly level up like crazy, do ALL the side quests, try and get EVERY last item, make AWESOME party combination, then blow away the boss, even if it took 100's of hours. Lately i find that i enjoy the story lines more then anything and only want to see what will happen next, i read too many books. In FF8 i think i am stuck in the last level with too low lvl chars and cant get out, unfortunately i kinda forget the systems in FF 8,9, and 10 and it would take me atleast a few hours of just clicking in the menu screens until it all came back to me. I havent attempted the boss in FF 10 yet, i'm sure i could beat him even with my low lvl guys, i should do try it.
Chrono Cross, i'm some where near the end of this one too, i started this game way after it first came out and then put it down when D2 came out and became addicted to D2 and D2X Hardcore mode, when that craze died down FF10 was out.
Tales of Destiny, just didnt really like it too much, but i would still like to beat it, i HATE having unbeating games laying around.
Star Ocean 2, read above.</div>
