Earlier today Legendary Videogame developer Shigeru Miyamoto sponsored a charity for the Starlight Children Foundation by signing ten copies Mario Sunshine and putting them up for sale on E-bay Canada. Two at a time it appears, I figured I'd make a bid because it's for charity figuring they'd only be priced around 120-130 bucks. As it turns out they're already up to over 300 bucks.
Seiken Densetsu first made an appearance on Gameboy with the North American release of Final Fantasy Adventure, a game that I myself have played through several times. It will now make a reappearance for the first time since the SNES release of Seiken Densetsu 3 nearly 6 years ago. Again it has come back home to the handheld market, Gameboy Advance. it's expected to be released about a year from now.
There is also an updated version of Final Fantasy tactics making way this Christmas to Gameboy Advance. As far as it is known it is the same as the PSX version with a few usefull additions that are currently unspecified. It is being called by Square the "new" Final Fantasy tactics.
There is also a Chocobo game coming to GBA, I have no idea what this game might be about other than that it will be released this fall.
Lastly, for GBA, a Final Fantasy sequel makes its way, titled simply Final Fantasy: The Crystal Chronicle, which is coming to Gameboy Advance this coming Spring. I have no other information on the game currently, but judging by the title, I am guessing it will be a game revolving around Four Crystals of Element, returning to the roots of the series.
Sega will be releasing the Collection of Genesis Sonic titles this november. For anyone who has never played these games and has a Gamecube, I highly recomend this title, Sonic Mega Collection. It contains some of the very best 2D platformer titles in history. I've been thinking, with the release of Sonic Adventure 2, and the new Sonic titles being released, wouldn't it be funny to see Sonic the Hedgehog dethrone Super Mario on his own console? 6 years ago no one would have ever believed that the console with the most major Sonic titles on it would not be a Sega system, but a Nintendo system.
And here are a few new screenshots of Zelda and Starfox Adventure:
