<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Got this game today. I like the game a lot so far. Despite what it appears to be, it's not really one of those 'mega crossover' kind of idea. Graphics is excellent, and so is music (which is actually kind of rare for a Square game now with their overworked musicians).

FF characters are pretty much just cameo and so far they're not even all that important (I'm only at Wonderland). So far Squall, Tidus, Wakka, Yuffie, Selphie, and Aeris all seem to be appropriate for who they are despite some age changes. Donald Duck and Goffy are straightforward but enjoyable characters. So far I only met Alice and she's seems kind of stupid but not to the point of being retarded. Now, for the big three...

Sora is kind of typical in the new surge of 'heroes who don't suck' trend. Standard average kind of guy, and it's actually believable he's a kid. Also since KH doesn't have vastly inflated stats, it does a pretty good job of keeping away from the 'average joe to walking Gods in 3 easy step' problem that most RPG have. At level 1 it takes me 3 swings to kill a Shadow Heartless. At level 11 it takes 2 (of course, the basic Shadow Heartless you fight in latter areas are tougher than the earlier ones).

Kairi is a strong personality but not too strong, like Yuna in FFX where the only point of the Guardians is to kill monsters on the way for her since she never had any doubt or inner conflict (the Sutiki Da Ne part actually strikes me as out of character). So she still depends on Sora and Riku, the two protagonists of the story.

Riku... cool enough to be a jerk, but not so much to be annoying/repulsive. Anyone who can take on Tidus/Wakka/Selphie at the same time has to be pretty strong. :) Dueling him in Destiny Island on Expert can be a humbling experience. He must have 20 times the HP of Sora and can almost kill you in one hit.

I put the difficulty on Expert and at first it's annoying how almost anything can kill you in two hits, but in retrospect if things didn't kill you that fast it'd be pretty trivial because even bosses in KH don't have a lot of HPs. The battle system is extremely smooth. It's like PSO but without any pause in between. Combos are just one smooth motion from beginning to end.

Camera angles, like most 3D games, can be a problem. Targetting is annoying when there's 7 things on the screen and you want to take one specific one down. But they're not serious issues. Your allies don't seem to help too much, but since they can never die (they get dizzy at 0 HP and recover with a few HP after a while) you don't really have to worry about them too much.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>I'm at the same spot Don is, I imagine you can get more abilities later on in the game that can make combat more instresting, for example I'm level 11 and my combo extended from 3 to 4 hits, I also have a roll evation technique, so I'm sure more are coming.</div>

Does it really matter?

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>I run away from a good deal of regular battles if possible. Is it really necessary to have any depth fighting random Heartless stuff that just pops up all over the place? Since when did random encounter in RPG took any skills?</div>
