Famitsu gave the new Zelda game a 40 of 40. Only the 4th time they've ever ranked a game perfect...draw your own conclusions.

Ocarina of Time, Soul Caliber and Vagrant Story.

It really sounds like you have this grudge against Nintendo, and I don't know why.</div>

None of those deserved perfect scores....

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Still, they've all been quality games...so it's looking good I guess...

KO-</div>

It depends on what you think a perfect score means.

<div style='font: 10pt verdana; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>I'm going to throw out immediately that it means a "perfect game" because such a thing an asbract notion which is impossible to achieve. What I'd settle on is "the best the industry has to offer." Ocarina of Time, maybe. I never played it all the way through. The other two, I never played.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>I think Ocarina and Soul Calibur were as good as you could have possibly expected games to be in those genres at that time, so if any games deserved perfect, they did. Never played Vagrant</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>No perfect game has ever existed, but "as good as can be expected" or "better than we thought possible" is a good substitute for "perfect"</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Fully agreed. SC was so damned good that they hardly made any changed for Soul Calibur 2, there wasn't much they could do other than add new characters, change some moves, improved graphics (only slightly) and new modes</div>

<div style='font: 10pt georgia; text-align: left; '>Sine, by the power invested in me I hereby strip you of the ability to use the label "fanboy". Symphony of the Night was a solid game but it was a handjob by Konami to fans of the genre. Soul Caliber was a triumph, its appeal is universal.</div>

Two, SC is great for single player action, but it's two player falls apart with a lack of balance.</div>

I love SotN, but it's cult classic, not best-seller*. You have to have very particular tastes to enjoy it. It's great, but it's not Great.

<div style='font: 10pt georgia; text-align: left; '>* name that quote and I'll give you a prize.</div>

The analogy is incomplete :). Soul Calibur and Ocarina of Time* are sex; everyone likes sex. SotN is a hand-job given by an abusive redhead wearing lubricated latex gloves; great for some, a little too weird for others.**

** Note that minor graphical issues aside I love SotN. I just don't consider it one of those transcendantly awe-inspiring games, like Gran Turismo or Soul Calib[e|u]r or Mario 64 or Ocarina of Time or...</div>
