<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Both are very unique games which are starting to become rare as they didn't exaclty sell overly well and are both discontinued now. Got to play them for about 30 min each....
Rez is a really interesting game. It's basically a shooter on rails (think Panzer Dragoon or Star Fox) but the graphics are mainly vector (no textures) and it's a got some nice techno-style music to it. You just shoot things down, basically. It seems pretty easy right off the bat, but after you reach the second area it gets much harder. It's quite fun so far, although I have not been able to play it for long enough to get into the intricacies of it.
R.A.D. is a really weird, unique, extremely Japanese game. Basically, it's Robotech meets Godzilla with a very anime feel to it (characters, storyline, overall style). You are a person who controls this enormous robot who defends the city from attacks from monsters and giant ass robots. The controls are quite complex. You use all 4 shoulder buttons to walk (right/left, front/back), use the directional pad to move the torso, and use both analog sticks for the arms (left/right) to attack. So there's lots of effort to control the things, but it definetely makes you feel more into the game. Gotta play it a bit more to get into it. It's not the fastest moving game in the world, but it is fun, even for someone like me who really isn't into giant mechs or Godzilla stuff that much.
My study partner and I take 30 min breaks after we've completely so much studying as a reward, usually to play Typing of the Dead. For those of you who don't know what it is, it's basically House of the Dead 2 except that instead of shooting the zombies, you have to type words within a certain time period to kill the zombies. Of course, you can change the difficulty so that the words are a lot harder. And with the bosses, they have a little more fun, making you do strange things, like answer questions for the 3 headed monster (3 possible answers), only allowing you to attack at certain times (the second boss, the Heirophant), or having these enormous sentences (the chainsaw guy). Anyways, she's about as good as me in typing and we can both do around 65 words a minute. You basically need that to get to the end, even on Easy like we have it now. We made it to the last boss for the first time last night (6th level). And you wouldn't believe how much fun it is. It sounds stupid as hell, but it's at least as much fun as the gun game IMO, and I LOVE gun games. If you have a DC and a keyboard, get this game. If you can find it, it should be dirt cheap now, even on Ebay. You'll go out and get another keyboard once you do, trust me</div>
