Got an Xbox Saturday, it broke on Sunday...

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Seriously. I talked to Zeus on Sunday at 5pm, then turned on the Cinderbox to try a bit of KOTOR. Played until I crashed into the planet, maybe 45 minutes in and the Cinderbox froze. Only thing I could do was turn the thing off. Problem was, when I turned it back on I got nothing. The tray wouldn't even work anymore! So I called Customer support and got a guy who treated me like a moron. I had to explain why I hadn't registered the thing yet, I'd only had it 20hrs!, and then he got me some number to take back to EBgames.

I'm seriously thinking of just returning it and getting all my money back. Even my PS2 (original series) ran until 2 weeks ago. 20 hrs is pathetic, and the support is absurd not that I'd expect more from microsoft. And Zeus wonders why I haven't gotten one before now ;)

This is the first console I've been utterly unhappy with. Steel Battalion did kick ass, for the whole 4 or 5 hrs I got to play it though.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt Dominion; text-align: left; '>haha damn...glad I got me a PS2 instead then :)</div>

You're going to take the rare example of a faulty unit and give up on the system as a whole?  If you just bought the thing and it broke you should be able to exchange it at the store you bought it at no problem - that's what 30-day exchange periods are fo

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>And let's be realistic here - not every piece of hardware is perfect. There are always going to be a couple faulty units that make it out of the factory and a few people are going to get screwed with their initial unit. It's been happening forever.

Speaking from personal experience, I went through *three* Dreamcasts on launch day before I found one that actually played all my games, then a year or two later the disc drive started to go on me so I bought a new one. So I'm on my fourth DC and I still love the thing.

I personally have had no problems whatsoever with my Xbox (except I think I might have crashed KOTOR once but that game is notoriously buggy anyway), or my PS2, or my GameCube either.

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>I'm taking over after work (10 minutes) if they give me any trouble it's refund time, otherwise yeah I'll just exchange it.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt "arial narrow"; text-align: left; padding: 0% 5% 0% 5%; '>Just get another one. Despite the anti-Xbox sentiments strewn about the board, you'd be missing out on a fucking LOT if you didn't get another one.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>It's been exchanged. Also picked up PGRacing for 12.99 Cdn. I'm not anti-Cinderbox, but it is still the console with the fewest 'must' have titles for me. Steel Battalion was the kicker for me, I love Mech games.</div>
