Can't create a Bond title that nearly touches Goldeneye 007? Then create a "sequel" Goldeneye: Rogue Agent, by Electronic Arts announced....

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Or perhaps not, just rip off the name. Now we heard rumours about a Goldeneye 007 sequel in the works where you would play as Agent 006 in the events between his defection and the main Goldeneye plot (9 years later). It seems that those rumours are false, though it is quite likely EA played around with the idea, whether it was because of legal rights or what.

Fact: Goldeneye: Rogue Agent (from now on referred to as Goldeneye) takes place back in a much earlier time period, in the days of Goldfinger, Dr. No, Blofeld, the good times. The player plays as a 00 Agent who has defected from MI6 and joined up with Auric Goldfinger. He becomes known as "Goldeneye" after he loses an eye and Goldfinger has his scientists create a new synthetic eye which is Golden in colour to replace it.

Opinion: Goldeneye? I don't know whether to laugh or shake my head, but I think I'll laugh, hahaha. This is perhaps the absolute worst attempt by a gaming company I have ever seen to attempt to capitalize on a gigantically successful game since, hmmmm, I guess this is the worst attempt =P
Overall, I still kind of like the idea, and I look forward to seeing the product.

Fact: It will have a wide range or real Bond characters, which include Goldfinger, Pussy Galore, Dr. No, Blofeld, Oddjob, etc... The story begins with a criminal war between Auric Goldfinger and Dr. No, and you, as a Rogue Agent, have been dispatched against Dr. No.

Opinion: Now this is the interesting part, the older Bond characters were my favourite (with a few exceptions). 006 was probably my favourite post-Connery villain (when I refer to the Connery era, that also includes Lazenby who did a Bond movie before Diamonds are Forever), but that is probably mainly due to the excellent performance by Sean Bean; Carlyle played a fairly good part in TWINE, but he still fell short of Bean. It would be interesting to see 006 as the main character, but this idea could be better. From Russia with Love also had the best supporting cast of any Bond movie to date. I wonder if you get to a fist fight with Judi Dench at some point? I bet she's a fairly tough charactter =)

Fact: As the story develops, you can customize attributes dealing with your villainous character and develop yourself. You can rise through the criminal ranks and eventually come to sit on top of the worlds criminal Empires

Opinion: Is this supposed to be another original concept not based on another gigantically popular game? I suppose now you'll be able to steal cars as well =P In my opinion, this is just EA capitalizing on the two largest games from the last two years, hopfully their product is awesome though. I like the customization ideas, of course I am a huge Bond fan (I grew up on the movies) so perhaps this feature is one that would benefit me the most. According to rumors, there will be villains from the Brosnan time line in there as well which could be due to the rumor that it was originally going to take place in that time period.</div>
