<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>My take on it:
I think that Sony first has to be sure that they are going to have a solid user base. Issues that are important to users for a handheld are the battery life, price point, and also the available software. The pricepoint could be a problem because the system production price is expensive, also the development costs for games will be expensive. The battery life is already known to be very low (only a couple of hours), that is something they could perhaps fix by beefing up the battery, which would add to the cost of production. The amount of software will be dependent on how well the system sells, if a system does not sell well, after a couple of years, it won't be getting much software unless development prices drop. If they allowed ports, even if it doesn't sell well at first, they will still have a steady income of games (even if they are only ports).
We're going to have to wait an see how things turn out in the end, the PSP will be released later on this year, though a delay may be imminent, you can't release a system that only has a handful of games coming out for it in the next year, no one will buy it.</div>
