Just beat Half Life 2...the ending is very open but I loved the whole single player game. The variety and feel it gives you is so rich. This is the game to upgrade your PC just to play it

<div style='font: 10pt Tahoma; text-align: left; '>Unlike Doom 3, which is a corridor crawler in the dark for most of the game, HL2 mixes up the environments and the objectives... and its well lit. Also, Doom 3 didnt give you one single new weapon while the minds at Valve keep thinking of cool things like the gravity gun.

I have no idea how D3 got the reviews it did, the magazines and websites are such whores. HL2 deserves its high marks, thats for sure.
