Final Fantasy Dawn of Souls part 1, excellent game, the updated music is probably the best part about the update; they didn't butcher it like they did with Sword of Mana.

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>The graphics are also much nicer. Dawn of Souls 2, I played further than I could ever do before, but it still has loads of problems. They made Dawn of Souls 1 much easier than FF1 by making magic much stronger; mainly what they did is they replaced the old system with MP and added in Ethers, what does this mean? The way it is now, people who are not used to difficult, limited, battle systems in RPG's will find Dawn of souls easier to get into. I actually went through and got all the treasure, something I have never done before, namely because it was deadly for the most part.

My comment on Sword of Mana is made because the magic system in that game blows, the item command system blows (it was better when you could just equip items to the B button instead of having to go through all this menu bullshit), and the characters were butchered (especially Julius). I played Sword of Mana back to back with Final Fantasy Adventure last year, and I found Final Fantasy Adventure to be much more fun, the ending of the game was much more climactic than Sword of Mana. Essentially Sword of Mana's plot was like some kids fanfic to FFA. The gameplay involved easier enemies and bosses with worse controls. Also, the music was "imrpoved" from Uematsu's original score, they used up to date instruments, but somehow it didn't sound right; Dawn of Souls did the same thing, but the music DID sound right.

So as for Dawn of Souls, it isn't the butcher-of-a-classic job Sword of Mana was; it's a very nice update. The magic system is in question, hardcore fans of FF1 won't like the change since they probably don't want an easier game, casual fans will like it as most RPG fans like easy games. For the easiest game, include a Black Wizard and a White Wizard in your party; the others don't matter, multiple wizards won't make the game any easier as one wizard can most often kill everything on the screen in random battles, the second wizard would be unutilized.</div>
