Well it's classic 2D Zelda, it's kind of a hard forumla to mess up.

I haven't beaten it yet; haven't had the chance to play it for two weeks. But it's a GBA game, brevity is to be expected. Of what I've played (a little bit more than half), I've enjoyed a lot. It feels like a successor to Link to the Past.

Nah, I wouldn't throw it in with a Link to the Past.

More like the a successor/upgrade to the Ages and Seasons games.

God tho....the 5th dungeon was HUGE. I couldnt believe how long it took to get through it. They came up with some big dungeons for this one....there may not be as many, but they are big.

Link to the Past is only a couple hours long, 13 dungeons that take an average of 7-8 minutes to finish, with a very small and simplistic overworld. I don't think Minish Cap could be shorter than that, but I could be wrong.

How does it compare with Four Swords?

Yeah, it's not that long really. Granted, I've played it so many times, it doesn't take me any time to figure out what to do since I already know.

Heh umm I mean it there's a total of 6 dungeons in Minish cap. It just FEELS small by comparison you really feel like there should be more.

In Minish there's no starting Dungeon, then you just go to 5 dungeons to get all 4 elements before the final dungeon(which is incredibley short and easy compared to the Wind dungeon) and the final boss.

Link to the Past: first dungeon to rescue zelda, 3 dungeons to get the pendants of courage wisdom and power, get the sword, nother dungeon to fight the wizard, new dark world to explore, 8 dungeons there, then one more dungeon and fight with Ganon.

Maybe it's just me but you'll have to play it to draw your own conclusion. To me dungeons NEVER take long to clear, first time or 10th time I do it.

I did feel it was kinda short, but I felt the fact that there was a lot more stuff to do on the overworld kinda made up for the lack of dungeons. Overall I have had nothing but fun with the game ^_^

Sorry, 14 dungeons =P

I usually just combine Hyrule Castle into one dungeon instead of 2 different ones (since you rescue Zelda and fight Agahnim there). Then again, it really depends on the player, I'm a huge fan of the genre so I think I might have an advantage over a lot of players on that particular game.

I think people are just used to games like Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Wind Waker now; those games are much longer than the older Zelda games. The older Zelda games I don't think were ever really intended to be anything more than a game to finish in a few days, whereas the newer ones are intended to take a few weeks. Though I think I can get them down to under 20 hours each at this point, maybe less than 10 with Majora's Mask. I just don't really like going through Wind Waker again because there's too much searching the ocean floor. I like the dungeons in Wind Waker quite a bit though.

I do too except about Wind Waker being long because that thing felt short. I would have loved 4-5 more dungeons.

Wind Waker is about the same length as the original version of Ocarina of Time. The dungeons in WW are longer, the longest in Ocarina of Time is probably the Water Temple or Shadow Temple, but all of the main dungeons in Wind Waker are longer than those ones (this is based on my second playthroughs of each game, since the first time through there is a lot of thought required to get through some of the stuff. The Water Temple in Ocarina is one giant puzzle).

Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time are short games in comparisson to the Master Quest I suppose, but that game is probably just a REALLY long game. I'm kind of grateful for it as well, there's no new story, but (I'll) always (have) some new Zelda challenge to play (at least for another year or so).

Differences between Master Quest and OoT?

Master Quest's Dungeons are different from Ocarina of Times, much more difficult to get through, a lot larger, and much more fun in my opinion; better designed. The only thing that is really the same about them is the setting. There are a few extra locations throughout the game as well.
