Try playing it now, it has THE worst gameplay of any overhead adventure game on the planet. But I will admit, the music and graphics were fun =)

I played it 7 years ago and couldn't play anymore. I found it dull....

I liked it. I can't imagine ever playing it again, though.

I wouldn't say all that...I can easily pick it up and play it, and I found it more enjoyable then it's sequals.

I only liked the first game in the series, it was quite fun to play actually. I might have liked the third one, but I only played it for a short time on emulator. Sword of Mana and Legend of Mana I couldn't get into; I felt Sword of Mana f'd up the gameplay of FFA, and also the story read like a bad fanfic, the game just didn't seem to flow even close to right, and it made it unenjoyable for me. The ending of Sword of Mana was also a hell of a lot less climactic than FFA, they totally demolished Julius's character.

All in all though, I think that Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranimga spoiled me on the overhead 2D adventure genre. And F*** Enix for not porting them to handheld =)
