I couldn't help it, the sexy screen and all the extra juicy features were calling me. @_@

I got Ridge Racer & Metal Gear Acid.

Ridge Racer is a beautiful game, I had to check my eyes a couple of times to make sure I was really experiencing a game that looked like this on a portable system. It was stunning. It was also easy to get into, and I also got the opportunity to try out the wireless feature with a friend, the wireless range is REALLY far. Not to mention there was no lag in the gameplay, it was very smooth. It would be awesome if I could take it on the internet.

Metal Gear Acid, I didn't know WHAT to expect. I will say this, the gameplay is alot funner then I originally thought it would be. I had a little Card experience with the GBA Kingdom Hearts, but this one is alot more strategic then Kingdom Hearts is. The learning curve isn't that bad actually I was understanding how to use all of Snake's functions by the end of the 2nd mission. The PLOT however is just downright weird. I don't wanna spoil it for you, but it's definately out there. ;p I think they were focusing on the Gameplay, but then again MGS plots are kinda suspect. The graphics of the game are somewhere in between MGS2 & MGS3. Meaning it's well polished, and detailed, but you're not seeing the system really pushed to it's limits like you did in MGS3. There is no voice acting, which was my only disappointment so far with this game, I wonder how much data those little discs can store.

Other features I messed around with, I threw like 3 random MP3s on the system, I also noticed you can connect to a wireless LAN and connect to the internet(Apprently you can browse the internet as well, but OFFICIALLY, the feature isn't out yet), I didn't get Wipeout so I couldn't use the hacked browser that's floating around. :)

All in all I'm enjoying the system, I feel like I've got my money's worth.

I watched Spiderman 2 for about an hour, took up 25% of the battery power. Then played 2 missions in MGA, and put it on the charger. Here's hoping the battery issues aren't a problem.

Cool. Enjoy. I am waiting for GTA PSP before I make any decisions about my next handheld system.

I've played quite a bit of Metal Gear Acid; in fact it was the game that convinced me NOT to buy a PSP for at least two years since this was the game that was most hyped; and it was the only game that looked interesting to me. The graphics are decent, but don't fool yourself into believing they are better than MGS2, they are about on the level of Code Veronica for Dreamcast or 007 Agent Under Fire (the first Bond game for the current gen systems).

As far as the gameplay goes, it is not the typical MGS gameplay, the game runs on a card system, and it does this very poorly in comparisson to other card based games (Only Namco seems to know what to do with card based games). Lets just say if you do not mind VERY slow and tedious battles, then this is the game for you. In this game the animations get old very quickly. It is painful to play this game if you are me, Don, or anyone else who is annoyed by this sort of thing. Overall, to sum up the gameplay in one word: frustrating and lame.

Onto the plot of the game. It takes place in an alternate universe, do I need to go further? Alright, it does not have nearly the depth of any MGS game made since the PSX release.

All in all, about the only thing that resembles MGS in the game are the graphics and the fact that it has Metal Gear in the title. The game is very slow moving, and I would not recommend this game to anyone except die hard Metal Gear Solid fans. All in all, I felt that the GBA Metal Gear Solid is by far the best game in the genre available for handheld systems.

And Eric, if you don't believe me, play the game a little more. Even when you try your hardest to like this game you will end up finding it to be a huge headache.

I enjoy it, so your point is rather invalid.

Well then, good for you, I couldn't even enjoy it when I tried. Has anyone else played it?

Funny how we both bought 2 different games. If i got a racer i think i would go with Wipeout Pure, it is getting awesome ratings (as is Ridge Racer, though). MG:A didnt get that good reviews, but i know people who really like it. MG:A isnt the flagship game (i guess there isnt one) so it is unfair for anyone to base the PSP off of it, MG:A didnt even release until after the system...

PSP is def worth its weight in gold, you know Sony losses money off the unit itself, the cost to make is over $250, appearently. I bought Logitech's hard case for it recently, its an awesome case, highly reccomend it.
