When are the big Square games coming out?

I think it's been at least a good year since Kingdom Hearts if not longer. It's pretty unusual for SQIX to go this long without something big. Anyone know when Kingdom Hearts 2 or FF12 is going to come out?

Last I heard, KH2 was scheduled for Septmber and FF12 was supposed to be this summer but was pushed back to the Fall.

So what the heck are they surviving on all this time? DQ8?

Yeah, the DQ games were a huge hit in Japan.
Square Enix, I am not sure how long they will live, even after the merger they still are not a gigantic company, especially with these new super companies that are forming (Namco-Bandai, Sega-Sammy, which each are several times larger than Square-Enix).
It has been a long time since Square has pulled out something great, it seems like they have fallen down the steps a bit. They have lost Monolithsoft, Nojima, Uematsu, and a number of other key employees. They have, however, acquired Matsuno and Quest (Ogre Battle, FFT, Vagrant Story) which might mean a good turn for them.

They'll be perfectly fine. They are THE company for RPGs, everyone's chasing them big time. Their games all make good coin, so they might not be as big as the super companies, but they can sure hold their own in their niche.

Off topic, but, Remember the rumours about a possible Sega/Namco merger a couple of years ago? That would have been something =)

That was in late last year (October, November). It would've been great from a gaming point of view, but I think this is a much better one for Namco. They can branch out a lot more now

Hard to say; (in US funds) Bandai was a 3.1 billion dollar company, Sega was a 3.6 billion dollar company, Namco was a 1.5 billion dollar company. Hmmmm, if the three of them merged together, they could probably launch their own console and be quite successful with it; I'd certainly buy it.
These are huge companies. The biggest one we have here in North America is EA which is only 2 billion

They also have a steady revenue stream in FFXI.
