Speaking of FFT....

Did any of you get through Final Fantasy Tactics Advance? I think I put it down after mission 60 or so, the judges started to really piss me off at that point. The music was no where near comparable to FFT's, which was a small gripe I had. I was enjoying it though, but the judges were so goddamn annoying....

Judges are annoying, but it was easy to get past. Just pick characters that didn't employ those skills. I had about 12-15 different characters, so that I would have every class in the game. (I picked the right ratio of the different races so that I would be able to try out each class.)
If it was really annoying, just use a law breaker. I constantly had to trade these because I never used them much.
The thing that really annoyed me the most was the fact that you had to steal everything, and you couldn't steal weapons very easily, even though there were some weapons that you had to steal VERY early in the game. Thus, you had skills that if you miss, you were fucked for the rest of the game. Also, there was the added disgrace that you HAD to have somebody else playing to get a few other extra items with the GBA link.
I abhore once-in-a-lifetime items like that. Currently, I'm still on Quest 8 or 9, even though most of my characters are already learning their final classes. This is because I'm paranoid of losing some of those stealable weapons.

I pretty much gave up on FFTA after Marche got a red flag in a level where healing wasn't allowed.
I cast a fire spell on the wrong critter.
Bleh.

Yeah, that is annoying. The anti-healing one is a bitch. I try to avoid it when I can, or destroy it with an antilaw.

I lost interest about 12 hours in. The judges arbitrary rules were annoying, and the battles just weren't challenging. If there's no challenge in the battles, then it's not fun.

I didn't mind the judges, but I stopped playing after a few hours because there are much MUCH better strategy games available, like Fire Emblem.
FFTA is below average in the recent strategy games I have played, but I will eventually get down to it since I am a fan of the genre. Sword of Mana which came out by Square around the same time, stay away, complete butcher of FFA.

I've played quite a bit through FFTA, because the battles were interesting, but I've stopped playing because I think I'm burned out on it. I still have Advance Wars 2 and Golden Sun unplayed, but I'm going on a trip here tomorrow, so those may see some play time. (Maybe I'll try to beat C:CotM while I'm at it.)

I still also have yet to play Golden Sun, and I have had it for years.
Castlevania: Circle of the Moon. Print out the maps from Gamefaqs showing the card locations and stuff, they will help a lot, if you have already played through the game and forget the map and what sort of monsters are where, and which monsters you have already got cards from. Summons are usually really good against Dracula, but I actually prefer to use the combo that powers your whip based on what % of the map has been uncovered.
Also, keep in mind that it is much more difficult to finish the Collisseum than the actual game. In order to finish the collisseum, you need to stock up to maximum potions to have a chance.

Heh, I may cheat a little, since I discovered that DS trick from the speed run video.

I played through most of it. The judge thing wasn't too much of a deterrant to me enjoying the game overall. Not as good as the PSX version.
