It's already happened with EverQuest.

Ah, so this type of behaviour is no longer shocking to the online community now?

It's certainly not the first time.

Maybe they should be banned then, since they've directly lead to more deaths than any FPS or Grand Theft Auto like game? Or your governmental representatives are too stupid to know this?

When you've 2 million or whatever number WoW is claiming these days, odds are pretty good one that you'll have someone die that's related to an activity 2 million people are doing in some way.

That's Korea man. They have TV channels dedicated to watch StarCraft Tournaments.
All the cool kids play video games all day.

I've heard of this before - at JAMDAT I knew a girl who told a story about how someone well-respected in her guild suddenly quit because they'd allowed their child to die of neglect while on an Everquest run.
I don't really think it means WoW is evil - more that the parents should be charged with the standard neglect and wrongful death or whatever the actual charges are. It's not really Blizzard's fault that some parents are this neglectful and out-of-control. Parents leave their kids to die without playing video games too.

If it's any consolation, I don't think this could happen in Eve.

Only 2 children have died from MMORPGs including the one that was posted. Chances are more than likely the person you're talking to is lying to you or is lied to. People have faked their own death in EQ so faking other people's death is hardly surprising.

Your anti-online-game trolling is getting old, Zeus.
Bad parents exist goddamn everywhere. Blame them, not their choice of pasttime.

Wow, this is the second time I agreed with Tort. Bad parenting, excellent!

Has anyone else here been to South Korea before? The people there are nuts, a very good portion of them spend so much time indoors that it is sickening. The only people I ever see out on the hiking trails are like 70 and older.

From what I understand South Korea gaming works like a peer pressure thing. Instead of you being a loser because you don't have the latest shoes or clothing you're a loser if you're not playing the game everyone else is playing.

If this was Fark, we'd need a Korea tag. I didn't even need to read the article, just the title, to know where this took place.
"Hey, look, somebody died in Korea relating to an MMO." BOOOORING!

Fashion is important too and to a very sickening point. The guys there are all metros. They even carry purses, what's up with that?!

Must...resist...urge...to correct Seeker's spelling...
AAHHHHHH!!! I can't do it. Is that supposed to be "fashion", "passion," or "frisson"? LOL!

Believe it or not, I don't hate online games, just the crazy behaviour it causes in people...

I think there was a mix-up there, I am the one who hates playing online RPGs. I find all the ones I played to be quite boring. I don't know about Zeus though.
