I started playing Katamari Damacy at 2pm, as a break from working on programming. I figured I'd play an hour or two and get back to work. So, I play...the system just got turned off right now (it's about 9PM Pacific).

I don't do this with other games. I seriously don't get compulsive anymore about any other game. Why did I just lose five hours to this game?

Yeah, I just finished completely a few days ago. Got all three of the eternals. Don't have enough dedication to get all of the items, or get the max on the constellations. Rolling up the moon is fun, though.

It's constant teleological reinforcement. You accomplish something significant towards your objective EVERY OTHER SECOND.

It's not like Final Fantasy where you only make significant progress towards the current objective every twenty minutes or so.

IT'S ELECTRONIC CRACK!!!!!!!!

Yeah, the game kicks all ass. So wacky it's great. So much fun you can't put it down.

Just wait 'til the sequel is released. Next month, if I'm not mistaken. It's appropriately named as well: We Love Katamari

Yes we do, dammit!

Katamari Damacy is videogames in its purest form. It's one of the few cases where more powerful hardware enabled new gameplay.

And where the developer used powerful hardware for more than simply enhanced visual and audio features
