Several sites have reported that the game takes place after Wind Waker; however, the translator mistranslated this part. Aonuma definitely said this game takes place after Ocarina of Time; so in essense, Twilight Princess is a sequel to Ocarina of Time, and not Wind Waker. Whether Link is the same incarnation of "The Hero Of Time" Link from Ocarina/MM is yet to be seen. Though Aonuma did speak that people quite remember the events of Ocarina of Time. One thing that is for certain is that this Link is not from the land of Hyrule; though the land of Hyrule is in the game.

There is the issue of the Twilight Realm, which certainly seems to have connection to the "dark world" of Link to the Past. Yet Wind Waker doesn't seem to draw upon events from Link to the Past. So there are a few theories I have come up with (yeah I know, what's the point? You are forgetting that I am the largest Zelda fanatic here by far!):

First: Link loses at the end of Twilight Princess. Wind Waker Link might be Twilight Princess' Link's son.
Second: Wind Waker exists outside of the main timeline
Third: Wind Waker takes place even after A Link to the Past, but that the only events in memory are the events of Ocarina of Time and the so called "Imprisonment of Ganon" myth/legend since it is so central to Hyrule mythology.

Personally I feel that there is one central timeline and several non-central ones.

Ocarina of Time is the very first in which Ganondorf becomes Ganon and is imprisonned, and that leads into Twilight Princess where obviously some sort of larger, but connected, event occurs and the corruption of the golden realm begins (it appears that Twilight Princess does deal with themes of war; perhaps this is linked to the Hero of Time story?). Next is when Ganon nearly breaks out of his seal, Link defeats him, this is Link to the Past. Lastly comes Zelda 1 and 2 which take place centuries later and deal around a Link in a ruined world defeating Ganon, and then preventing his ressurection (the NES Zeldas).

One other thing I should touch on, is that in his latest interview posted at IGN's video section, is that the voices are not finalized; when asked about voices, he said that it is not finalized. At the latest demo, there was limited voice acting involved.

Anyways, here are the two latest trailers from Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess,
