No, it's kinda like a pseudo-adventure game where you're lookin' for these 16 colossi to save your sister, that's all I know (can't remember what, I don 't read up too heavily on games I'm interested in; it's the FF7-effect). So, when you're exploring - which apparently isn't a huge part of the game - you're talking to people and going to places or something like that. You just don't fight to get to a boss battle. Now these bosses take a long time to fight, many longer than an hour. And these guys are HUGE, some more than 300 feet tall (which is why it takes so long to fight them).
I personally love the idea. The fights mean something and you're not wasting time with random battles that, at the end of the day, don't do anything other than build up your character. It's a short adventure time-wise, no reason to have levelling up and stuff like that. So a game like this that takes 10-15 hours is like a 25-30 hour normal adventure game where you spend half your time (at least) fighting level/random enemies.
And apparently it rules. Check out the Gamespot review. It got an 8.7 from them, which is great for them.

IGN gave it 9.5 or something. It sounds great, but I'm going to wait on it 'til it's cheaper (same with God of War). Sony first-party titles always drop in price and are never short on supply; this is why I'm still waiting on Gran Turismo 4. Other games that will be more rare and never drop are more important IMO, such as the RE4 PS2 Special Edition, Guitar Hero, Dance Dance Mario, and Dance Dance Extreme 2
