Finally got a Gamecube

Shellie's birthday today. She's playing Animal Crossing, and I got bored so I came down here. I hate spending so much money on these damn things: Gamecube, games, four controllers (because I'm sure I'll need them for some Mario Party deal), Gamecube/GBA thing, 16x memory card (as Animal Crossing needs an entire freaking 1x card, and the used game didn't come with one). Also hated having to disconnect my poor Dreamcast.

Christmas will be me opening a bunch of used games I wrapped myself. Jesus fuck...when did it get this crazy? I have four consoles, and a shitload of games that "need" to be played. I remember when I had to go to my friend's house to play on the SNES. Granted, I had a computer of my own and a good pirate connection from day one. But, now I just want to spend a good month (month as in [24 times 7 times 30] hours) playing games. It's not quite the immeasurable joy I had as a kid (since I didn't know about sex and drugs back then), but it's still enjoyable.

And Shellie wonder why I want to sit and play video games all day. Honey, I'm just trying to fucking catch up! I'm currently "playing" Shadowhearts 2, Drakenguard, Mercenaries, and now Metroid Prime, with at least a dozen games that I could be playing in tow.

The world has entirely too much entertainment now. Too many books to read, too many games to play, too much porn, and too many Internet sites to go to. I don't see how anybody can be bored, including my wife.

Welcome to Seeker's world =)

I own way more games that I haven't finished than those that I have finished. I haven't even finished all of my NES games yet =P

I not even including the PC world, which I haven't really touched. Don't think I've grabbed a game for the PC in a couple of years, actually. Stratch that...I did play Doom 3, but Half-Life 2 is one that I haven't played either.

If you want a list of must-have GC games (IMO, of course), let me know :-)

And NO ONE is even close to me when it comes to a backlog of games. I just gave up :-)

Despite the negative press and the hype behind games like RE4 and stuff. My favourite game on the system is still Mario Sunshine. All the Sonic games are also good. If you already have any of the Sonic Adventure games, then you have played all of them. Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is the best of the series. The classic compilations are also great stuff.

On new games, the new SSX game, that just came out, kicks enormous amounts of ass. The gamecube version is the best due to it having the most extras.

Skies of Arcadia Legends is my favourite RPG on the system, but I also loved the original Dreamcast version, and I remember you didn't like that one.

Truthfully though, aside from DDR, I have barely touched consoles in months. Handheld games have captured my heart =)

Im having issues with Animal Crossing. I paid off my initial house loan...but it seems like the only thing I can do now is run errands for people in town. I can visit the shop once a day and buy stuff, but thats about it. Am I expecting too much at the beginning?

I havent been able to get a fishing pole yet.

Its winter so I think no bugs are out to catch...

any suggestions?

That's kinda odd because Natsumi keeps telling me the suicide rate in Japan keeps climbing each year because people simply get bored over there.

I seriously doubt people commit suicide because they are bored. I can't imagine the inner monologue on that one: "Damn, I'm bored... I guess suicide is the only answer!"
