"Jesus Christ! It seems kind of strange that Israel is purchasing such a large amount of weapons later. Could it have something to do with blowing up the Lebanese? I honestly see no correlation here."

"Hey, Miss Rice, she's expendable, lets send HER over to Iran so she can be a martyr!"

In case you ever wonder why the fighting in the Middle East will never stop

Yeah, we need to stop that.

Anti-Semitism blows, but this kind of relentless Zionist shit is getting old...to me, anyway...I know the Western world needs strategic outposts in the Middle East and all, but Jesus, stop giving the Israelis more arms in a year than some developing countries see in their entire existence.

Given the current political situation, I understand why we did it, but long-term I really really think we need to get away from this.

No chance, man. War = money and the US is #1 in the arms business. Remember, they fed both sides of the Iraq-Iran 10 year war in the 80s (the whole NOrth fiasco) back when Iraq was an ally.

Watch Lord of War, it gives a decent explanation of the basic idea.

On a side note, I haven't heard this in the news here, but Israeli Jews are protesting the bombings into Lebanon a lot right now. Their own people aren't happy about it. Heard this directly from my family there. But you don't hear shit like that on the news here, it's "anti-semetic". FYI, the Jews, I believe, are the second biggest lobby group behind the NRA in the US, so it helps with the lack of real reporting on what's going on over there. You need to watch international news (like the BBC and stuff) to get the real news.

Where I live we have a very large Lebanese population, some Lebanese families have lived here for hundreds of years. Our last premier was Lebanese. obviously, the sentiment here is very anti-Israel.

Personally, I see nothing anti-semetic about thinking and saying Israel should go to hell. It is not because they're Jewish, it's because they're assholes. Obviously I am not talking about all Israelis, but rather just the ones that are pro-war, pro-Zionist, pro-expansionist. Well, that might be most of them, any of them who realize they aren't supposed to be there probably are not there.

Good times. Remind me to move to the deepest Canadian wastes when the arms industy invents personal nuclear weapons.

Yes they are. They should be warmer from all the global warming by that point, too...

Yeah. I'm pretty much getting to that point too - I don't agree that Israel shouldn't be over there, but I do agree that they need to cut out the Zionist bullshit. They're gonna set the fucking world on fire.

Also, I'm non-trivially part Lebanese as well, though my dislike of Israel isn't really all that related to that - if I'd actually ever been over there to connect with my roots and etc. I'd probably be even angrier, but I don't really think of myself as more or less Arabic than the other twenty or thirty countries in my genetics.
