The plot starts with an 18-year-old who finds his grandfather's glasses, which has a secret map of the Energon cube, which he attempts to sell on Ebay.

Now that they're done fucking Transformers in the ass with a large stick, they're bringing out the chainsaw.....

Huh? What's wrong with selling maps of the energon cube on Ebay?

Did Ebay exist during the time the Transformers were on Earth? Think back to the show. This is Crappywood's idea of "updating" it. And I'm willing to bet his "discovery" of the Energon cube (also, there's only one, which is odd; I thought that was their source of power) will "wake up" the Transformers. Wasn't the Autobot's computer supposed to do that after years of sleep?

They're raping the show's canon, that's the problem

I hope a human fist fights optimus prime before it's over.

I would like to see them to blow the special effects budget on animated genitalia for the Transformers. That would be exceptional.

Listen, pal, just because your crappy game was brutalized by Crappywood doesn't mean you cheer for my fav cartoon to be Ished; aren't we all friends here? :D

I just don't understand why the existence of Ebay is a reason not to see the movie. Think about it, that kind of nitpicking is extremely silly. It's like saying you hate FF7 solely based on the reason that there is a Coca Cola ad in it.

I was cool with that. Now if it had been Mountain Dew, I'd probably have smashed my Playstation. CLOUD DOES NOT DO THE DEW!!! He's a 7-UP kind of guy.

FF7 had Coca Cola in it and it was silly because that's in a fantastical world, putting something like Coca Cola in it is completely unnecessary and would destroy the whole imagination part, which is important in an RPG. It would be the sole reason to hate it, but it was be a good reason to be wary of it. It just doesn't fit. The fact that the game after you left Midgar became a jumbled mess is what made me dislike it.

It's the mentality. Transformers are big robots that landed here on Earth millions of years ago. There were awakened and some are trying to destroy the Earth by taking all of its energy to use for themselves while others are trying to stop them. What the FUCK does Ebay have to do with that? Why the HELL are we even talking about Ebay when it comes to the Transformers? It's a shameless advertisement and stupid way of appealing to young people that's being forced into a movie but doesn't fit. It's not like the Wonderbread uniform in Talledega Nights, that's perfectly believable since companies sponser NASCAR cars all the time. But selling the Energon Cube on Ebay? Yeah, 'cause there's only one of those and it's so precious.....

Basically, what Crappywood is doing here is taking a popular thing and "updating" it without giving a flying fuck about its heritage. If you care about that thing, like Eric and Resident Evil, taking something and completely twisting it around so it's NOTHING like the source material makes fans of that source material squirm (I happened to disagree with Eric on this one as I thought RE kept enough of the game in tact but updated it well, but that's not the point). I mean, the ONLY thing that's going to resemble Transformers is large robots fighting from the sounds of it. I wonder if they'll even be from Cybertron at the rate they're going.

"Updating" it by having Soundwave's cassettes be discs that transform instead I can understand as kids nowadays don't even know what a tape is (note: Soundwave isn't even in the movie). But having a singular all-powerful Energon cube and having a kid sell it on Ebay is just ridiculous. There isn't only one of them, it's the way they store the energy of the Earth that they steal. Besides, it's not like a human can even carry one. It just doesn't fit what Transformers is. They're simply grabbing some of the very basic plot elements (big robots, Energon cubes) and doing what they please with it.

The fact that the humans hate ALL robots rather than being friendly with the Autobots is fine IMO and it's a departure. But it fits and makes sense (how happy would you be to have 60 foot robots flying around destroying your town?) The rest is just ridiculous.

Yes, YES give into your hate, harness your anger! Cry about the inaccurate changes to your beloved Transformers, I will feed on your tears that will give me new life, and when I watch the mockery that is Resident Evil 3 on the big screen by that hack Paul Anderson I will smile knowing that it's ok, because even though Resident Evil has been butchered on the big screen so has your favorite cartoon Transformers.

Karma ftw!

I'm going to start a crusade where everyone goes to see Transformers 4 times over the course of 1 weekend just to make it the highest grossing movie ever. Then, they'll consider it a huge success and make a sequel that will be even more blasphemous to the source material and Zeus' head will explode.

Then, I will have won.

If it becomes the highest grossing movie ever, I will buy 12 copies of the super-duper special edition DVD, label them by month, and watch it each day for a year, using that month's DVD to make sure I don't wear it out.
