Did anyone here see this yet? In case you've been living in a cage, it's a mockumentary about a guy named Borat (the guy from the Da Ali G show) from Kazahkstan who travels to America to learn more about it and he makes a movie so his fellow countrymen can learn about it as well. Everyone else in the movie thinks it's a real documentary except for Borat and his producer (ie. they're not in on the joke and actually think he's from Kazahkstan).

Wow, this is maybe the most politically incorrect film you can think of....then taken to the next level. It'll be a bit shocking and gut-busting hilarious all at the same time. If you get offended easily, stay very, very far away. If not, it's a must-see IMO, likely like nothing you have seen or ever will see.

I remember Borat from Ali G, I wonder if that show is still on t he air? It was fairly funny if you're into stuff like Tom Green, Buzz, and stuff like that. I haven't seen it in like 2-3 years though; I don't think it really caught on here in North America, but it was huge in Sweden.

The best episode was when Borat went hunting with the rednecks =P

Sacha Cohen >> me. Borat was hilarious, and I couldn't do what he does.

My favorite phrase: "I want to hold Pamela's hand as we walk down the aisle, then make romance explosion on her stomach."

Anyone know if that scene at the end with Pam was fake or not? It looked pretty real, but I couldn't find any news on it.

With all the clips on the web and all the talk from friends, i feel like i have seen it already. I'll probably wait until video at this point.

Fun fact: that rodeo was in Salem, VA which is about a half hour from where I live now.

But I still haven't seen it.

So what is the movie? Just a compilation of the clips from the Ali G show or completely new?

Completely new. It's a fake documentary about Borat trying to learn about America as a learning video for Kazahkstan.

Nev, I can't find out specifically whether or not the Pamela scene was fake, but I somehow doubt it's real as she likely woulda sued the pants off of him unless, somehow, Fox is using the broad wording of the release to fight them off.

Flip, unless you've had every scene described in detail, it's worth it IMO. Coming from someone who watches a lot of indie films and documentaries, this one is not like anything you've seen before. But you REALLY have to have thick skin for it. More politically incorrect and in-your-face than you believe a film can be.

Borat has always been a fake documentary learning about the US and the UK as guides for the people of Khazakastan. That is why I am wondering if all they did was just string together a bunch of clips into one movie.

I saw it this weekend. Two words describe it: Fucking Hillarious.

The bedroom "fight scene" will stick with you for the rest of your life.
