"That's a lot to live up to, and surprisingly -- amazingly -- Twilight Princess succeeds admirably, and in every respect. On top of that, it's an exceptional game in its own right: gracefully improving on the best elements of its predecessors, carefully trimming their shortcomings, and throwing in plenty of new ideas to keep things interesting....The game's move to the Wii was a worrying change for many who feared it threatened to compromise a solidly crafted adventure for the sake of proving that the Wii can too play host to this kind of game. But those worries were ultimately needless: Twilight Princess is great on Wii. The remote-swinging sword attacks create a streamlined interface that allows for the most impressive swordplay the series has yet seen. While the Wii's button layout is a bit unwieldy, the core mechanics are as solid as ever....The interface's natural feel is especially impressive considering the vast array of abilities at Link's command -- in addition to his usual repertoire of skills, he wields an arsenal of about two dozen tools, can learn seven advanced sword skills, and sometimes even transforms into a wolf...The answer? The game has been reviewed by several sites now for an average score of 98.3, which is ahead of Ocarina of Times 97.7 total average. If any game is going to pass Ocarina of Time, it will be this one.

I am fairly sure by what I have read that it is going to be a game I love. The only things that some reviewers knocked it (scorewise) on was just that it felt similar to past Zelda games in a lot of ways gameplaywise. I do not really see how that is a negative rather than a positive; it is like telling me, well this beer isn't anything special, it tastes like Carlsberg only with improvements. As far as I am concerned, I have played 3 games in about a decade with gameplay like that, it isn't enough (well, 4 games, Vagrant Story has a lot of similarities in the puzzles). I have played many more games with turn-based RPG style lately. I am fairly certain I will absolutely love this game based on descriptions.

The game could really use voice, at least for the non-main characters. And an upgrade to the music from MIDI to full orchestral. No real reason not to anymore IMO and the benefits are too great to pass up

Yeah, that's kinda where I stand. At the end of the day, the gameplay is still spectacular and the MIDI music is still great, but oh what a game it could be with production values equal to that of Kojima's stuff or even Halo or GoW. Same goes for Metroid Prime 3. As good as the Prime games were, they would be that much better with better production value. If there's one area where Nintendo sucks hard is in their production value.

I don't care about voices at all. I don't want Link to have a voice and it'd be weird to have everyone talking except for him.

I do agree that they should have upgraded the score to an orchestra instead of using midi. Something about the orchestra sound just draws you in and makes any experience feel more epic.

I too would have liked orchestrated music, quite a bit actually. Voice acting is not important to me, but only because I have a great imagination; of course this is not true for everyone.

As far as Zelda goes, as it currently stands, it is the most highly praised game in years.

Yeah, if it isn't presented to me in the most basic way, I miss it. Likely goes with my inability to read or find a door to get out of the house in the morning :-)
