Seek, like Kupek said, it's more of an exploitation of the system rather than a built-in feature. I somehow doubt Nintendo set up a Wii Video Channel to allow you to convert and watch downloaded movies or TV shows on the Wii. So, it really isn't related to the original post of the channels as this was not an option or brought up during that discussion. And I still stand by my original declaration of the Wii channels: they're there and you can have fun with them a little, but they don't make or break the system. And I find myself getting bored of the Photo and Mii channels rather quickly. My friends and family seem to enjoy the Mii stuff, but it does nothing for me. We'll see if anything else is added and when I get online for the weather and VC, but right now, this video conversion is the only thing that interests me. I'll likely be entertained by the Mii Parade thing for an evening, but I don't anticipate much longer than that.
I got a 1GB card and I think I can fit a 44 minute episode on that, but I'll have to check. Definetely not a full movie unless I go to a 2GB or 4GB card. The program appears to convert it to straight mpeg (as opposed to mpeg 2 or mpeg 4 like for the PSP), so we'll see if it's even worth it. I'd also like to see how the interface works. If it's too clunky, I won't care.
I was there on that fateful day, were you?
