Wow! I can't wait to see the fight. I heard all about it last night at the bar, though I wasn't watching it (I watched PRIDE 33 which was fucking insane with all the upset victories and KOs last week). I didn't have a bet on this fight, but I was leaning heavily towards a Couture victory. He had been going through a lot of personal problems in his later light heavyweight career; plus Chuck Liddell is an excellent fighter. So this is SOME comeback story, and at the age of 43 as well; that's an example Dan Severn Crazy Old Man strength demonstrated right there! I didn't have a lot of faith in Sylvia, no secret that I have always considered him a paper champion (as with Arlovski before him; though this Randy Couture victory regardless is going to probably be made into a comeback movie someday. I am VERY happy to see this victory, best thing since Georges St. Pierre crushing Matt Hughes.

Now, possibly the biggest fight in UFC history, Cro Cop vs Couture. UFC has an interesting heavyweight fight ahead of them =) A World Class kickboxer vs a World Class Greco Roman Wrestler. I don't think the Zuffa run UFC has had a fight of this magnitude in its history.

I actually watched a UFC fight the other day, and it was pretty cool, so I guess I have to eat my words about said fights that I posted back in the day.

Some good-looking dude in black shorts was fighting some bald, crazy-looking guy in blue shorts. They both fought using a kickboxing style pretty heavily...it ended when blue trunks kicked black shorts in the neck. I really thought he should have won, but they gave it to the other guy..can't remember names though.

First three rounds and a bit are now up online in these two videos. Others should be up in a bit, but these ones may get taken down.

Haha, I LOVE how the crowd bood the standup at the end of the second =)

Just finished them all.

What can you say? Sylvia just got his ass kicked by the 43 year old man. Amazing fight.

That fight was very entertaining, it had just about everything in it. There are few decision fights I can say are more entertaining than this one. Considering it is Randy, the win is more fun than anything since Sakuraba schooled the Gracie clan. In UFC victories, this ranks up there as one of my favourite wins of all time. Finally the heavyweight division has someone good as a champion again, and it is Randy! It also was not a George Foreman surprise knockout either, this was PURE domination. First ever 3 time UFC Heavyweight champion, first ever 5 times UFC title winner, and the oldest champion in the history of the division. His next fight will be against Mirco Cro Cop, he will be 44 years old when this happens.

Yeah, I HATED that paper champion. The UFC for a while had really poor champions that everyone just assumed were really good. Finally they give GSP another shot (he was practically just out of childhood when he got his first shot and still did very well) and he demolishes Matt Hughes, Anderson Silva walked through Rich Franklin, and now Randy Couture smashed up Tim Sylvia for 25 minutes. The UFC right now, with those three I mentioned and Chuck Liddell now has really good champions, it is an exciting period of time for them =)

Though Cro Cop vs. Randy Couture... Randy may be a world class Greco Roman Wresler, but it is a 44 year old Randy Couture up against a world class kickboxer who will be 33. Despight the age difference, Cro Cop has about 2 years of professional experience over Randy. These are two of my favourite fighters of all time, so I am very much looking forward to this fight. I am not counting Randy out, but if he wins, it will be a lucky win (like Randleman's KO victory over Cro Cop). Cro Cop is the debated #2 fighter int he world (tied with Nog), so even as UFC Champion, Randy is still the major underdog in this one. In all of Cro Cop's years, he has only won a single championship, and that was last year's Open Weight GP tournament, he has yet to hold a title belt.
