  • I got a wii finally!

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

Im still at work. Me and a coworker friend just drove a 3 hour round trip to Lexington to get a Wii. We had been looking for them, and the Circuit City there apparently just got a few in stock today.

I cant wait to get home and hook it up.

Now I gotta find the thread with the friend codes! ;)

congrats! your post exudes a sense that it was difficult to find one. I asked some EB employees a couple months ago if it was still hard to find and they say they're always sold out and getting calls about the wiis all the time. So are they still hard to find?

From what I know, they're still hard to find. Although around my area, it may take a day or two to actually sell out now rather than 5 minutes.

I dont think its as hard as it used to be at all...but it's still not very easy. The guy at Circuit City said we were lucky to get it. *shrug*

They're likely going to drop an atomic bomb's worth of shipments when Smash and Galaxy are released in a few months.

Right now for Wii, the best single player games are Paper Mario, Resident Evil 4, Zelda: Twilight Princess, Godfather, and Scarface. For multiplayer Wii Sports is good, but Warioware's elimination mode is hands down the best party game I have ever played. I would also say ignore the reviews and take a look at Mario Party 8. Rayman is also a lot of fun, but I personally found Warioware to be superior, but Rayman is good exercise for multiplayer =)

Why the hell are they hard to find? Just make more! After all, every time a person can't buy one, they are losing money. I don't understand these console shortages at all.

Also, I am still playing my PS2. This was mostly her thing. I wanted to buy one, but not until I was done with my PS2. She gives in to peer pressure too much, and I give in to her obsessive whining. Yeah, it's neat and all, but I still have games to finish on the PS2, and I don't want them to be sitting on a shelf for all of eternity.

Ah yes, obsessive whining. One of the greatest weapons in the wife's arsenal. There are more powerful and damaging ones such as the stealth spending, but it's often seen as the last resort since the obsessive whining has the least collateral damage :-)

I think they're at capacity in their current Wii plant and don't feel it's worth it for them, yet, to open up another plant due to the excessive start-up costs, especially since no one knew it would be this popular and who knows how long it's going to last?

Although they do have around $10B US in liquid cash.........

Yeah, how much would it pain them to open up a few million of that 10B for a new factory?

Cost-benefit, man. They just don't know if it'll be worth it in 5-10 years

On a related note, my bud's EB actually had 4 units there on Saturday. I asked him what the heck was going on and he told me that they had received 12 that week in two shipments and were expecting another shipment early on this week sometime (likely Tuesday). I guess within EB the stock's starting to flow a lot better; well, up here at least. Also, the Microplay I go to had some new ones in and even a used one.

Not sure if it's like that down there or not but up here the shortage ain't nearly as bad anymore

I've been seeing them here too: HMV, EB, Wal Mart.
