Do you even remember?

I think that I was referred here by one of the dudes from the Mana Tree House or Eblana, but at this point I've got no idea. It was so long ago!

I was looking up a site for Chrono Trigger (which at that point was the hottest RPG available) and also was interested in Wild Arms and there was a lot of talk going on about that game too. When I first got here I was buying SNES and Genesis games new.

I think through Tort, who no longer posts. I started out only posting in Ruminations, and I think I even started arguing with Sine before actually posting.

Andrew, do you remember how you first encountered me, and I think by proxy, the MTH?

Via Pete Wisdom aka Esque from either the PSXNation boards or the Sega Saturn board (can't remember the exact name of that one... y'know, the one with PSXblowz. Anybody remember that tool?).

Yes, I remember him, the Internet was a MUCH smaller place in those days. You could actually know all of the people who headed videogame websites back then =P

Oh Jesus, vaguely, I think. Didn't it have something to do with a guestbook and insane Christians?

Man, did I find both Eblana and the MTH through you? Insanity if so, that's the first couple of years of my internet experience right there.

I was searching for info on Final Fantasy 7, I think. And I came across the board completely by accident. It was the 1st message board I had ever seen online at that point and you guys were all discussing games, I started to join in. :)

Be honest. It was FF7 slash fanfic you were after. It's okay, we're not going to judge you for it.

There was Manaman too, but I think he went into some sort of fucked up depression along with Crono and some others..... Or they've been kidnapped by a certain poster here.

Yes, it was some insane guestbook thing. And I think I was the one who introduced you to the MTH, Eblana and all that. Well, if I wasn't, then it would be an amazing coincidence if you found those independent of me, and then we randomly encountered each other through my guestbook, of all things.

Tort's doing alright, although I haven't spoken to Tort in a long time. The last time was in person, actually. Last I knew, he was doing the normal thing: working a job and seemed to be in a good relationship. My freshmen year of college, I ran into a friend of Tort's from high school. Tort knew we were both going to VT, and I think he showed him my homepage, which had a picture. One random night I was eating dinner and someone said "Are you Scott?" and I stopped, frozen between the responses "Yes" and "How do you know that?" I've actually gotten to know that guy much better than Tort, and I've hung out with Tort a few times in person because of that association.

Far out, I wish I could remember that story, I'm certain it was awesome. I've probably got it written down somewhere though.

I think I see this thread like every year...

Anyway, the exodus from the sega-saturn board, where all I really remember is G-man, Braaak! and PSXblows.

I remember my first post, everyone ignored me....which kinda pissed me off. And I've been trolling as revenge ever since.

Sometimes I wish I hadn't tossed the hard drives with the archives of the old, old pages on them. I could probably have pulled up some posts to make us all embarassed (those who were here back in the day, back in the day).

I know it was through the the Mana Tree House and Eblana that I found tOWS. How I got to those places is a little fuzzy though. I think I stumbled upon MTH through a link on the Unofficial Squaresoft Homepage, but I'm really not quite sure anymore. I found Eblana around the same time (I searched for it after it was featured in an issue of Game Players), but I didn't start posting until a few months later.

Was it Wild ARMs like everybody else? I think it was. FF7 was shortly after that. It was my first message board experience, and I never really left.
