  • EA buys Bioware

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

Yeah, shit sucks. Pandemic does not deserve to be in tiny fonts though!

I was surprised Microsoft didn't buy them, but I guess that's not the direction they're going in at the moment.

I'd have PREFERRED Microsoft doing the buying--they can't be as stupid as EA.

Then again, though, EA *IS* primarilly a Video Game company, so...

Eh, it's bad either way.

You seriously can't think that..........

EA is a FAR better choice than Microshaft. I would prefer an independant studio, but EA has at least shown it CAN release quality software on its own (even though they seem to kill any house they buy). What the heck has Microshaft released that they didn't buy?

EA does have A LOT of good games. I just can't stand their boring sports titles. Besides EA is a pure videogame company, they understand the business better. Microsoft understands the business a great deal less.

Sucks but not surprising. Who didn't know something like this would happen after that wierd holding company bought them and Pandemic up...I think just this year (or late last year).

Microsoft has published a heap of games for the 360 and the only ones that I can think of that have not been great are the Japanese and Korean-developed ones. They have been a quality software development and publishing house this generation.

I would have preferred that Microsoft bought Bioware also, because system-exclusive games are generally better than multi-platform ones. In fact for that reason I wouldn't have been pissed if Sony had bought them, even though I don't own a PS3 yet.

But at least with EA you're gonna get a choice of which system you wanna buy the game for. With Microshaft, you're gonna buy it for the 360 and nothing else. That's not always a good thing unless you only own the one system and want everything to come out for it

I'm not buying an Xbox 360, so it bvenefits me that they're going to EA. I do plan on buying the PS3 and PSP (though I am waiting on those because I am in no rush and the price can only go down, I am already buying games for PSP and I will probably buy a PSP once I have 4 or 5 games for it), I already have a Wii and DS.

I'm not particularly interested in a lot of North American titles, which is what is mainly on Xbox whereas Sony and Nintendo platforms get mostly Japanese titles, the kind of games that I prefer. Though I do tend to like Canadian and UK developed games which tend to follow a more Japanese style, but with their own flavour.
