Just as an FYI, been pondering on all my conflicts, and I am now officially removing myself from this place. I won't be speaking to you guys again, except those who wish to get in contact with me - my info is readily available.

The reasons have to do with the lukewarm response to my shrieking calls for the end to homosexual epithets around here. Adios, and my best to any of you I can still muster up any warm feelings for.

My personal feeling is I don't like anyone leaving (regardless of what I think of them OR what they think I think of them), but as an aside, anyone know what Mental here is yappin about...?

My Jealousy:
I don't remember any "shrieking calls" for anything of the sort...nor do I remember anyone using "homosexual epithets" to any large degree. Did I miss something? You bastards delete some drama?

My Un-asked for and Unappreciated 2 Cents:
I don't use faggot, gaymo, homo or anything else on regular basis - but I do throw em around occasionally. I'm pretty comfortable with my use of the terms. I can only imagine the reason Nev has decided to take issue with it is because he now identifies himself with that group (real, imagined, confused or just taking on some minority position so he can pick more fights and heap more drama into his life as the perpetual victim - who knows the reasoning). No one cares. I don't know one gay person that gives two shits about the use of those terms...and like the N word (something I'm personally not comfortable with), it tends to get thrown around even more within their own community. But good luck writing off friends in your quest to control other people's venacular and wipe the use of "gay" off the Internets....sounds like a winning plan Nev.

Nev, one thing about this place, we just are who we are and we say what we want. That's why so many have been here for so long, it's an open forum for that without really getting flamed. Sure we have arguments and people calling each other idiots or worse, but it's never really malicious in intent.

But at the same time, we can't take anything personally. It's just arguing on the internet, man. And because of that you won't see too much sympathy here either. Not because people don't care but because people don't take things personally. If anything, people here care more about the community and its members than on most forums I've seen or heard about (I admit that's not a huge number of sites but the basic idea's the same in most places).

But hey, man, it's up to you. It's not what anyone wants but if you do, good luck.

As for football threads, yeah, a lot of us don't even look at those. It's all just a strange take on Rugby to me (one where you have to stop the action all the time). Speaking of Rugby, England had a good run at the Cup this year defeating both France and Australia back to back (It doesn't get much better than that, that's as good as winning the cup itself!) and made it to the finals where they dropped it to South Africa. No use cheering for Canada, no wins though we almost beat Japan, had a draw or something against them; Sweden doesn't even have a team.

If I recall correctly, he has already gone through years of professional help with no real sollution to his issues. Perhaps the type of help he needs is something more spiritual. He's in the LA area, there are hundreds of religions available. Catholicism and Mormonism are good ones if you want to bury your current beliefs in new ones; of course, there is also the strong social aspect to those religions as well. Though if you would prefer to have beliefs taken out of your head rather than replacing the old ones with new ones, I recommend an Eastern religion, something along the lines of Buddhism might do quite nicely. Buddhism is a much longer procedure though, it is one of those things that takes decades whereas other religions might only take a few months. Try something on for size, you never know what may help. Religion can be interesting as well, and the people will be much less likely to judge you than the secular folk.

Aye....the one thing I found that's a key to a good therapist is someone who will tell you flat out that you are fucked up. then help you without pills being the first thing they go to. There is depression caused by imbalance but sometimes it is due to situations. really find someone that tels you what's wrong with you.

But, I digress. This thread is about Crazy Nev's Crazy Car Show. Let's get a few things straight: Nev/Mental didn't own the site very long. I still have an early timeline, so let's recap:

April 1997 - Electronic RPG Forum -> Aqua Demesne
July 1997 - The OtherWorld Shrine
Dec 1997 - Transferred to my site (Crono and I named admins)
March 1998 - Mental leaves
Feb 2004 - Crono leaves at some point (date here was the last known post)
Nov 2007 - We're still here

So, first of all, Mental "owned" the site for exactly 7 months (changing the board name three times), and was "maintainer" of it for 11 months. Then he goes AWOL for several years. Crono jumps ship for a while, comes back, leaves again, and I don't think we've seen him for at least 3 years.

I, on the other hand, have been an admin/maintainer of the board for 10 fucking years and I never left! I survived. I win! I made this board the way it is today. I gave people the freedom to post what they want. Despite several bans here and there, arguments from different people, and some regulars leaving (and coming back), the core regulars of posters are still here, 10 years later.

Really, us regulars have maintained the board on its own. Who the fuck cares who created the shrine? The point is that it's still here, and whatever you say, Nev, it's not going away. It doesn't matter that you "created" the forum, but now that you're going against your creation, we don't want you here.

Leave. Get your head screwed on straight. Never come back here again, unless you want to act halfway civilized.
