So, I was told in an email that I won Letter of the Month.

This is awesome, as it was my FIRST letter I've EVER sent to ANY magazine, ever.

So, I gave 'em my address, and I'm looking forward to whatever free game they give me.

WHoo hooo!

Oh, hush bovine.

We promised to keep that talk strictly for the bedroom. :azn:

If the magazine wasn't insanely expensive ($6 an issue even through those cheap school subscription programs) and made nearly obsolete by the web (like their own 1up.com), I may have actually noticed.....

I like the magazine though. The smell of a new magazine is wonderful.

Seeya in there, Ace. I buy it every month because I'm too much of a retard to subscribe.

I always get my subscriptions for free or for a few bucks a year via some online deal. There is just something nice about being able to read it at lunch after getting it in the mail. :)

Being descended from the barbarian tribes of the European Woodlands, and residing in a nation of lumberjacks, I very GLADLY pay money to see those trees destroyed, their guts mashed to a pulp then pressed so I can read our great West Germanic language of English off of their evil ****ing dried flesh!

I think you only save 1 or 2 cents an issue, so not a big deal. EGM is in the business of fleecing their loyal consumers, not giving them a deal for subscribing for a whole year.

Judging by my tone, you'd think I hated the mag, but it's actually the only gaming mag I would subscribe to....if it wasn't $6 an issue to subscribe....on a deal.....through the schools to help the kids.....

I'm sure a subscription is much cheaper than that. It's $8.00 on the shelves, so I pay $96/year (not including taxes).

Looked it up on their site. An EGM subscription is $12 a year in the US. I couldn't find how much more it is in Canada. BUT you can get EGM and GFW for $24/year and it's $16 more ("for shipping") if outside the US. So even if it's $16 for shipping just for EGM, that'd make it $28 a year.

...Yeah, I'd better subscribe.

Like I said, I saw it on the mag subscription thing they give to kids. Was $32 per year in the past, they upped it to $65 this year. I never even thought of looking online since so many times in the past it used to be almost cover price after the additional shipping.

I'm gonna subscribe now too. Thanks
