I don't know if this is the most horrible thing I have ever seen or the most awesome.....probably both...

like the red headed bastard step child of F-zero and Mario Kart

I have to share your sentiment.

I'm completely confused about whether I'm offended or excited.

Nothing good could come out of this...

The other day I was thinking about how good of a movie The Matrix is. Really good. It's easy for me to forget that with how self conscious the other two got. Who would have thought back in '99 that we'd look upon something made by the Wachowski brothers with trepidation?

But about the trailer itself, I have no love for Speed Racer, but I think this might actually work.

Hmmm...

Ok, half that trailer seemed like silly children's movie fluff.

Half that trailer looked FUCKING AWESOME SPEED RACING.

I am conflicted.

Finally saw the trailer. Certainly a lot of good actors in it. It might be in that range as Aeon Flux: a decently enjoyable story with lots of SFX, but nothing like the source material. Of course, the source material should be picked up, shat on, and burned.

I gotta say - I'm enjoying this fad of creating live action versions of old cartoon properties. Hollywood seems to be taking them seriously.

But I think I might vomit if someone tries to create a live action Bugs Bunny. I know somewhere, that project is floating around, but hopefully they have the good sense to keep it buried.
