Ah, yes, the last great FF game (haven't tried 12 yet....). We shall miss the fantasy setting which is dying a slow deathFlip wrote:SineSwiper wrote:OH MY FUCKING GOD!!! THEY ARE IN A NORMAL SETTING WITH NORMAL CLOTHES!!!!!!
Ehhhh, i'm getting tired of the modern day fantasy and the futuristic fantasy... Id be nice to play some old school fantasy again (ff9).
The FF series has completely lost its luster to me. FF9 was spectacular but it was an oddity in the post-SNES FF. I have yet to try 12 but don't care at all about either 13 game. I'm more looking forward to the remakes of the SNES ones than any new one that's coming.Black Lotus wrote:Wake me when it's 2009. I don't give a shit about either game at this point.
I also found that fun, it was a game on its own.SineSwiper wrote:I would buy FF12 for the excellent gameplay. They fixed everything right that was wrong with RPG mechanics. Plus, building those autotask thingies was fun.
Didn't play Final Fantasy 6? Kitase designed both 6 and 7 with a similar tech level in mind. He also worked on and largely influenced FF8 and 10. He is currently on 13.Flip wrote:I thought the futuristic FF7 and 8 (little less so) was just a fad when they went back to the fantasy'ness of FF9, but i guess i was wrong since FF10-13 are all extreme modern with magic environments. I like the world of FF11, but dont like MMO's so sucks for me.
Yes yes, we had this discussion before and i proved you wrong again by posting a poll, most everyone agreed that FF6 has a much less technological feel than FF7.Dutch wrote:Didn't play Final Fantasy 6? It was a very board poll question so people could interpret it how they wanted. So, anyway people took it didnt matter, the overall feel of FF7 is clearly more sci-fi/fantasy, and it doesnt have to do with graphics/systems since most will say that FF9 was less so.SineSwiper wrote:Depends on your idea of technological. After you leave the first city behind in FF7, you realize how Podunk the rest of the world is.
Don't even begin to make people believe i typed that incorrectly and subsequently edited my post, you know it isn't true. You want to play spelling and grammar Nazi? You better not make one mistake for the next few weeks. Suck my anus.SineSwiper wrote:Beat? Beat your balls, you say? Well, I have a baseball bat right here, as a matter of fact...
