Del Toro likely to direct the two Hobbit films

McKellan will probably come back, now that Jackson is involved.
McKellen has already said he'd love to come back and likely will. I don't think he's THAT busy right now. I'm sure if Christopher Lee is alive he'll be back too. Who are the the other possibles? All of the elves? Never read that book.

Elrond was in The Hobbit. Legolas could appear; he wasn't mentioned by name in the Hobbit but they pass through his Kingdom. Saruman (and I would hate to see anyone else play him other than Christopher Lee, and I hope he's around for a good while longer; right now he's the center of the Hollywood Universe =P) and Galadriel could also appear.
The Hobbit took place before Sam and Frodo's births (it was over 60 years prior).
