Detroit v Nashville -> Detroit
San Jose v Calgary -> San Jose

SECOND ROUND

Although, I'll of course be pleasantly surprised if Detroit takes it all. I'll really be happy if Detroit, or either Montreal or Pittsburgh takes it. The Canadiens are really exciting to watch this year, and Kovalev's comeback is something they really needed. Pittsburgh is also a really exciting team to watch. Malkin is a fucking star.

So being in the Washington area (soon Washington itself) its been hard to not jump on the caps bandwagon. The capitals turnaround is nothing short of amazing. Add that to the fact that the wizards are in the playoffs (which i dont think both teams have done since the 80's) and its been a fun town to be around as far as sports (and the opening of the new Nats stadium).

Maybe being the hottest team in the NHL will create some huge upsets in the playoffs.

I don't think the penguins will make it out of the 2nd round. They're just lucky that they're playing a terrible Senators team.

While it's true that Ottawa both sucks, and sucks even more with their injuries, I believe Pittsburgh has what it takes to go the length. If the first game was any indication, Gary Roberts can really lead this team where Crosby cannot.

One more thing before I leave this alone for a bit: CBC's broadcasts are way better than the ones featured on TSN. The TSN feeds for the playoffs are from Versus, formerly OLN in the states... drowsy announcers, bad lighting (could be the arenas themselves) and poor microphone placement. You can hear so much more of the crowd on the CBC broadcasts than you can on TSN/VS.

The best thing about the last couple of months and this playoffs is the utter destruction of the Sens. It took them beating a Leafs squad missing everyone to even make the playoffs. They don't win that game and they're out. And they fucking stank up the joint yesterday. Oh man, I love it. How's that Alfuckssen leadership now?

I think the Rangers are far better than people give them credit for. I agree with Lotus' predictions except I'd take the Rangers over the Habs with Pittsburg beating them then losing to San Jose in the Cup finals.
