Rock Band killed my Xbox

So a friend of mine brought some guitars over to my place to play some rock band... put it in and like 10 mintues later the screen freezes with vertical lines down the screen. Odd... never happened before, try again. Works for a little and same thing. A few reboots later I get the Red Ring of Death!

I already put in my request for the cardboard coffin, anyone have to send one in anytime recently know their turnaround time? If I miss out on the release of The Force Unleashed I will injure people. Are they still replacing them or just repairing them now? I'd love a newer one with a quieter DVD player and HDMI output

Normal Xbox from a year 1/2 ago, why would that matter? HDMI now comes standard on all new Xbox's since almost a year ago now.

It matters because the Elites don't have the overheating issue. Mine has been working great for a while.

The second time I sent mine in, I sent it on a Tuesday and it came back on the Friday....then Saturday I traded it in for a Halo edition one :-)

But the repair centre is in Toronto, which is pretty close to me. That'll probably make a difference

It's more a manufacture date issue than a model issue. Just so happens the Elites came out about a year ago which was when they fixed the issue for new consoles.
