I played those NES and SNES Star Wars games much more than they deserved. I actually got to the point with the NES Star Wars that I could almost beat it at will, but I never did beat the NES Empire Strikes Back. That game was freaking hard.

I do remember thinking how ridiculous the SNES Super Star Wars games were, but I still ate them up. In fact, I think Super Star Wars was the deciding factor for me for buying an SNES over a Genesis.

Yeah, looking back at the SNES ones, they're ridiculous but back then, they were the bomb. And FUCKING hard. The NES ones I actually never played

I actually have the Atari ones, too (they never made Jedi). God they sucked

I remember the first SW games that got me were actually the PC ones. Rebel Assault 2 sucks now, but it was awesome back then. And nothing touched the Tie Fighter series, it was amazing. Then came Dark Forces which fucking kicked ass. It was really those games that got me more and more interested in SW games than even the SNES ones.

Then came Shadow of the Empire which, as an N64 launch title, was just amazing.

My dad was a big X-Wing and Tie Fighter fan. Good space sims.

I love the Jedi Knight series. The Force Unleashed seems to be in that line of gameplay.

I never thought the SNES Star Wars games were hard. I guess it's because I loved Star Wars and I loved videogames; it just never occurred to me to stop playing a Star Wars videogame.

Anyone played the Lego Star Wars games? I've played the first trilogy one. Well, about a third of it. Surprisingly fun, and good co-op.

I'm making my way through LEGO SW: The Complete Saga. I'm just about finished Episode IV. I love the LEGO games. There is tons of stuff to do and they are just fun to play through being a big SW fan. Plus they have pretty much every character that exists in the series as a character to use.

If I don't get my Xbox back from the shop in time for the Force Unleashed I'm going to go catatonic x_x

That being said, Rebel Assault II was one of the first big games I played back in the day. And Xwing vs TIE Fighter was an awesome game, but X-wing Alliance is where it shined which was unfortunately the last of the series. Great single player story with a damn good multiplayer setup (who doesn't love the idea of having you and your buddies go up against a SSD?). Oh the hours I sunk into those games...

I was a big fan of both X-Wing and TIE Fighter, but when they came out with X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, it didn't feel as smooth as it's predicesor.

Lego Star Wars kicks ASS. Some irritating parts but definitely worth playing through, especially on co-op

I've been considering Lego Starwars. The complete edition on the Wii only costs about 20 bucks, which seems like an amazing price for a game that a lot of people have been praising.

As far as newer Starwars games go. Right now there are three newer Starwars games coming out for the Wii; all being developed by Krome in Australia. This year there is Clone Wars and the Force Unleashed. They are doing the PS2 version of Force Unleashed as well, and while they have two separate teams working on the code side of the game, I assume they will be sharing assets; the team is 170 in size. The third game is a yet unannounced title that will utilize the Wii Motion Plus and, from what I gather, will be released some time in 09 after Wii Sports 2; Starwars fans should love this one. Clone Wars has a very interesting art style, I assume it is based on the movie coming up, though I haven't really looked into that at all.

I recommend the game only for the multiplayer. Not particularly fun to playthrough alone due to the super-simplicity of the game.

That's absolutely perfect. I almost never have the alone time to play single player games on console anymore anyway.

TIE Fighter and presmably X-Wing didn't have multiplayer in mind, while the VS game has to tune stuff down to balance for multiplayer. X-Wing already has a huge advantage on its counterpart, the TIE Fighter, and the Tie Advanced not to mention Tie Defender was way better than anything rebels had. I think the original series worked because there's such a power disparity especially on the imperial side, so when you get these new TIEs to play with it makes everything very different. Even the difference between a TIE Interceptor versus TIE Fighter is very significant.

I dunno...I'm playing through alone and it's still fun. It's fun mindless action which is what I'm in the mood for sometimes.

force: unleashed demo is on Live right now, to be followed by a PSN release today. Demo is cool, too bad I'm pinching pennies.

Don't understand why I need X-Box Gold Service to download a fucking demo when their direct competitor offers the demo on the PS3 for free.

The only thing Gold has is multiplayer. You don't need Gold to download demos.

Besides, why would you buy a PS3?

I went to download the demo on my X-Box, they said it was only available to Gold members. -_-

So I went to download it on my PS3 instead.

Why is there a restriction to begin with?

And I own a PS3 cause I'm rich, BITCH. :p

One, if you're rich, just get a damn Gold membership. Two, Silver membership is free, so you don't have to pay any money to get the demo.

You're kidding me, right? Haven't you seen all my bitching and complaining about how Gold members get a TON of free shit that the Silvers don't get, not to mention a one week headstart on most demos and freebies? I musta posted 10 posts bitching about that very thing in the last 4 or 5 months

Now why would I do that. The only game I ever wanted to play for extended periods of time multiplayer was Halo 3.

Any other game that the X-Box has, I can play on the PS3, but for free online.

I'm certainly not becoming a gold member, when again, I can get the same damn demos immediately on my PS3 for free.

This is the reason why I enjoy my investment in my PS3, it might have been pricer, but at that same token, I'm not spending money paying for a service every year, I got my investment back immediately.

Just get a connection and nab the free cards that come with games like I do >:)

What the fuck is wrong with the Silver account then? They just want you to register, so that if you lose your HD, you can re-download your shit for free.

*Boggle* I have a Silver account.

I guess it's restricted to Gold then, my mistaken.

Still dumb though. :)

Here's what's wrong with the Silver vs Gold accounts:

1) Having to pay to play online - basically, I have an entire portion of a game that I paid full price for which I cannot play unless I pay a monthly fee. That's the definition of fleecing your customers

2) Timed demos or promotional material- what the fuck is the point of the demo or the free Madden 09 desktop theme (was only available to Gold; they took it down after the week rather than make it open to the Silvers) if it can't reach the audience? These are promotional techniques/items yet you have to actually pay to access them...for the first week anyways. So you are, in essence, paying for a demo. Some idiots may have done that for FF7 or MGS2 but I firmly believe that demos should be free to get people to play your game, like the Arcade demos. And what the fuck is the point of me not being able to download my Canada Day theme until a week after the holiday?

It's just Microshaft nickel and diming its customers, period. Considering the Wii and PS3 are free, it's essentially a tax on the stupid...or impatient.

Really? That is kinda dumb. I thought Silver gave you almost everything.
