Did Hell just freeze over?
Geesh, not even a fucking link about it....Eric wrote:Did Hell just freeze over?
That's not completely true. There was Eternal Sonata, Katamari, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Phantasy Star Universe, Enchanted Arms, Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom.Dutch wrote:A Tales game was just released for the system, the first game that is really interesting to the Japanese released on the system.
I don't think the interest was high surrounding any of those games. A lot of those games you mentioned (like Katamari) are actually more directed at North American fans of Japanese games rather than the Japanese themselves.SineSwiper wrote:That's not completely true. Also, Infinite Undiscovery is coming Sept 1.
Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon for sure caused a huge surge in sales over there. There was even a Blue Dragon bundle with a special face-plate and stuff. PSU was actually on the PS2 as well so I don't think it affected them much. Trusty Bell, which was our Eternal Sonata if I'm not mistaken, did OK and Katamari was slow in sales all over the world. Kingdom Under Fire wasn't even released there if I'm not mistaken, that's a US-developed title, no?Dutch wrote:I don't think the interest was high surrounding any of those games. Sorry, 25K Xbox 360's for the week.Zeus wrote:For Kingdom? That's basically being unreleased :-)Dutch wrote:According to Enterbrain nearly 25K sold.
Yeah, which is a fuck-lot more than the usual 2 to 5k they sell in a week. You can imagine they don't bother diverting too much supply to JapanDutch wrote:Sorry, 25K Xbox 360's for the week.Zeus wrote:For Kingdom? For most of the last 12 months it was around 1K, sales started going up in the past month or so.Zeus wrote:Yeah, which is a fuck-lot more than the usual 2 to 5k they sell in a week.
