The learning curve for figuring things out is a bit high. Not really to figure out how the controls work (though that is one step), but just figuring out the enemies enough to not die every 5-10 minutes. Death is only a 15-second animation and you have to run a bit to your location, but it's a break in the action, and a loss of bonuses that hurt you.
In any case, it's a really fun game. The combat system seems to be pretty effective. Equipment comes at you a mile a minute, but at least the item cap is aided by a auto salvage mode, so it's no where near as bad as Mass Effect on item management. (You still have to check on your equipment for upgrades every 10-20 minutes, though.)

Rosalina: But you didn't.
Robert: But I DON'T.
Rosalina: You sure that's right?
Robert: I was going to HAVE told you they'd come?
Rosalina: No.
Robert: The subjunctive?
Rosalina: That's not the subjunctive.
Robert: I don't think the syntax has been invented yet.
Rosalina: It would have had to have had been.
Robert: Had to have...had...been? That can't be right.
