I have no clue what it could be, but I would be that it's a hardware upgrade to allow you to store stuff on your SD card and access it without having to move to the Flash ROM. Either than or just allow any external storage device to be plugged in.

I love it when you have to constantly purchase accessories just to play games of a console you already own. Soon enough you'll need a separate entertainment center just to hold all those damned controllers and adapters and addons.

Really, M$ is just as guilty in this regard and Sony has been in the past. All console manufacturers make you buy shit you should be getting for free.

Only idiots don't buy the 360 without the HDD, and I fully agree the wireless adapter is total bullshit at $100; that sucker needs to AT LEAST be halved in price. But what Microsoft DOESN'T do is keep throwing more accessories required to play its games after release. HDD and Wifi adapter have been around since release, but already less than 2 years after release the Wii has what, 3 extra controllers at least? You got that Wheel everyone hates, the Boogie Board, and something else I'm forgetting.

The Wii has how many controllers total now? 5-6 I'm counting offhand and that's ridiculous. If you can't make one decent controller I don't have 5 instead that do different tasks slightly better and others much worse.

Well you can technicly count the nunchuck and classic controler as well when you come down to it.

Still, I would say that it is defidently good to hear that we should be hearing an announcement on the storage issue soon, I am not only running out of space for channels/wiiware/VC games, but my save storage is low as well.

The wheel is $10, I think. I wouldn't count them as controllers because they are not required to play any games. You can play MK without the wheel and you can play Link's Crossbow Training without the gun. Without the board, WiiFit is unplayable. The same can be said for the nunchuk. And while the Classic Controller is a not required and is more of an alternative, I don't think anyone would argue that it wasn't a controller.

I think the wheel is 15 actually, though it might be 20, and 1 obviously comes free with Mario Kart. The Zapper is 20 I believe as well, and comes bundled with the Link's Crossbow Training software.

I don't see any problem with the way Nintendo has handled accessories with the Wii; you can get a full controller by purchasing the Wii Remote + Nunchuk, or you can get just the remote which is all some games require (and that is the lowest priced controller currently on the market), and a classic controller for virtual console games that utilize a classic control schemes. As far as I know, it is a developmental requirement that all Wii games utilize a control scheme for the standard Wii remote controls, or Wii Remote + nunchuck controls; so for Wii games only, nothing else is required unless you want to buy it. It is obviously a successful strategy.

The major problem with the Wii right now for an increasingly large amount of people is the storage issue.

$10 for the wheel, the zapper wasn't sold separately. But it's down to $15 with the Zelda game right now at EB.

They're shells, not controllers. They don't work without the Wiimote. The nunchuck and classic controller can be considered peripherals, even though you actually get a nunchuck with the system.

For the vast majority of games, all you need are the wiimote and the nunchuck. Additional Wiimotes are cheaper than Xbox 360 or PS3 controllers, and only compare in price when the nunchuck is added on. I have had no problems with it. The major issue with Wii, from my perspective, is the storage issue; it has been making things a hassle.
